So, to update from my last post on the local Camaro missing it’s wheels. This morning I saw a Progressive Insurance truck there, with someone looking over the Camaro. This afternoon I saw this:

Kinja'd!!!

It appears that wheels and tires were quickly acquired once the insurance folks had their chance to look things over. Not sure why they really needed to look, since there should have been a police report. I believe that those are the same as the wheels that went missing last week.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Tonight the Camaro, and the signs, are gone and in it’s place is a 10 year old Impala. I believe that the Camaro with dealer plate was actually a loaner, leading me to really believe that the signs were there only for the drama.

Plot twist: the Impala shows up with Camaro wheels tomorrow.

Definitely a loaner. Those are dealer techs in a Chevy truck and wheels are already on? Loaner.

And if that is the case the signs are now pathetic.

I was curious to see if some locking lug nuts were going to be on it.

Who steals factory rims?

They were using a cordless impact. They didn’t even use a torque wrench to verify final torque. I didn’t see locking lugs, but I took the photo from across the street.

I have never verified the torque on my lug nuts lol

Since I track and autocross my car, I hand torque my lugs every time the wheels are off. I know that my cordless impact is capable of 300 foot pounds, but I have it set lower than that and pull out the torque wrench for one final turn.

The only time I didn’t do that, but relied on the impact gun, they loosened after only 20 miles.
