No, not the Malibu, that belongs to Hertz. The driveway it’s in. And the garage in front of it. Oh and it came with a house too. I’ll post more garage soon but the seller’s been a pain and left a ton of her crap in there and is claiming she needs to come back for it and I’m doing my best not to murder anyone.

Thanks! Yeah I don’t have time to tell the whole story now but basically she totally underestimated how much work it would be to move out and the house is a mess. Fortuanately I don’t move in til next week and our agent has been awesome at making things right so far. She’s got 2 days to get it out and if not we’re just going to keep anything we want (there are some nice tools but I guess she’ll grab those) and have a local charity pick up the rest.

Haha yeah that was the first thing my wife said. Surprisingly none of the other houses in the neighborhood have done that so we’re gonna have to have an engineer look at it and see if the roof can bear the load.

She was supposed to be out on the 31st. Then she said she couldn’t and we signed a contract that she’d pay $40 per day through the 3rd (which she has) and then $100 per day after that if she still wasn’t out. As far as I’m concerned she’s not out so that $100 per day starts today. I think I’ve been accommodating enough.

My crazy PO didn’t start packing or moving out until the day of closing. Whole thing ended up delayed by a couple days because she refused to sign the papers, showed up at our “final” walkthough and started throwing shit and screaming. It was pretty special.

She ended up leaving quite a bit of stuff behind. Sold it all on Craigslist. Made about $250.

Oof mine wasn’t quite that bad but yeah her movers “fell through.” Honestly there is enough useful/sellable in between the junk in the pile that’s left that I wouldn’t mind too much if she abandoned it but so far she seems not quite there.

Also our agent said this wasn’t the first time he’s had a seller not ready to go but usually he gets a feel for which ones are going to be problematic early and he was just shocked by this one. He had no idea what to say at when we all showed up to get the keys.

Same thing happened to my BIL. Seller was a nice guy but dense and would not move the fuck out. My BILs agent literally helped him pack and brought friends. Now that’s an agent you want.

Previous owners left a ton of shit at my house. It was cheap for a reason... Anyway, I threw out 90% of it but I got lots of sweet gardening tools, a lawn mower, several hand carts, thousands of screws and nails, and a new leaf blower.

Thanks me too! The houses in this subdivision are pretty boring architecture but at least a lot of them have been painted fun colors. Across the street is baby blue, next door behind me is what I will call British Racing Green and there are a few pink ones.

I saw fuck it and keep it all if she doesn’t respond in a timely manner. Once you take possession, everything there is yours unless you had some kind of rent back agreement (which you don’t of course). Obviously if you come across albums or jewelry, hang on to those and try get her to come back out for those.

We actually do have a rent-back agreement - we closed on the 31st and she said she needed 3 more days - but it was over yesterday. The agreement says the rate goes up to $100 per day starting today. I’m assuming that’ll get her butt in gear. If she doesn’t want to pay that I’ll say fine I’m keeping your stuff. And yeah there are a few albums in there and I’m not cold enough to throw those out but I need shit away soon so I can move in.

There already is a master suite on the second floor but we also kicked around the idea of building over the garage some day but we can’t really see how it would work. Maybe you can work your magic on it at some point :)
