My office building is actually two buildings that share a garage. There’s a cafe in the other building from mine. When I walk over there, I note the nice little courtyard with tables and chairs and think, hey maybe I could eat my lunch here.
But then I hear the noise of the other 5 buildings being built around here and go back up to my office with my lunch.

The GIF you stuck at the end is a good explanation of why you can’t just vault over everything. Just go under the chains. Even then, maybe the chains are there for a reason...

My company will be building a building in Tyson’s starting in about a month - 120 unit high rise condo. Should be a nice addition to the traffic and general congestion!

I heard we reached “maximum crane” levels out here a few months ago, still mobs of construction but new starts are finally starting to slow down.

I’ve gotten pretty good at figuring out the assorted side street routes to get on 495 further north than the usual Chain Bridge Rd ramp coming out of Tyson’s. Those routes aren’t exactly free of traffic either but I feel like they shave at least some time bypassing a chunk of 495.
Usually it’s one of a few ways to get to the Georgetown Pike ramp, but occasionally Google Maps has me sneak from 694 across 495 then double back to a ramp to 267 that then goes right on to 495 before getting charged any toll.
Very sneaky of you, Google Maps.
