Today I will be driving the Sa Calobra Road in Mallorca. My weapon of choice? A rental spec 2wd diesel Jeep Renegade, a car that I really wanted to like, but one which is full of niggly ergonomics and some woesome quirks. Does anyone care for a review? No? Moving on then.

My co-pilot and fiancé is tasked with containing her fear and taking some stunning shots as we go down one the greatest driving roads in Europe, all the while we are being pressured by coaches and cyclists on what is essentially a single track road.

Perhaps death will become us, perhaps not. But I will be posting a quick write up with whatever pictures we manage to take.

Looks like fun! I only wish digital cameras were a thing when I drove the Alpine Highway in the 90's.

Didn’t hit this road, but the little V40 Cross Country rental I had when I was in Mallorca last year was a blast on these curvy little roads. And the views were amazing as well. Enjoy!

The sad thing is the damn thing is so numb I really don’t have to pretend. The Jeepy-ness is non-existant, it is 500X through and through.

The roads outside of Palma are great in all directions. We’re up in Deia and it’s pretty much second and third, curves and hairpins whichever way we decide to go.

Ahh, we went to Deia and it was incredible. Make sure you get down to Cala de Deia. We stayed over in the middle of the island near Inca and it served as a nice base of operations for us. Enjoy!

Exactly where we stayed! A little AirBnB just a minutes walk from the cove. Beautiful little place.
