I’m fond of the E34 M5 as well. Everyone gravitates towards the E28 and E39, but I’m all about the E34.

Used to see a beautiful one in red on campus when I worked there. The want is still strong.

I would probably rank it as one of the best looking BMW’s. Then you factor in the S38 and that it’s one of the cheaper M cars and it seems like a no-brainer to me.
Too bad my SO thinks it looks like an old, out-dated, piece of junk. Or as she would describe it: “It looks like a car that a history professor bought new 25 years ago and still drives around to this day.” Which sounds fine to me!
The only classic BMW I’ve convinced her to even consider is an E9, but I’ve never come across a clean one.
