It’s a doggy-daycare car, the owner uses it to collect the dogs to take to her farm (she’s a field and barn just for the dogs separate from the rest of her husband’s farm).

When you do find time to reply, please share the secret to getting dog hair out of automotive carpet. M y mom used to her Outback to haul her giant dog to the vet and now there’s white dog hair just about everywhere. I’ve tried several times to remove the hair, but I haven’t had much luck getting the hairs that are embedded in the black carpet out. Any suggestions?

Damn, that car is worse than mine. I desperately need to give mine a good interior cleaning. Can’t wait to see the results.

They make some rubber brushes that are supposedly the shiz for getting doghair out.

Wow, a rear hinged rear door?! I don’t think there have been any of those on the US market since the 60s. Almost makes the car look cool.

But so dirty. Sounds like the dogs have a wonderful daycare.

I’ll bet it smells awful in there.

You know those short, fine, metal combs you use to brush a dog to get dead hair out so they don’t shed? (I think mine is caled a Furminator) Give that a try maybe?

Hi mate. I have a Maxollen Hair Removal Tool. It’s textured rubber on a hard fabric base.

You can achieve similar results by putting your hand inside a nearly new running shoe and rub down and towards you. Then vacuum up the now loose hairs. Do it one section at a time otherwise you end up pushing hairs into the fabric.

Good idea, but t he carpet has fine loops that will catch the teeth of the comb. This one isn’t ours, but you can see the nap of the carpet.

Ick. This reminds me of my car stereo days. I had a guy come in in an E30 for a satellite radio. The car looked similar and smelled awful. I kneeled on the back seat while I was running the antenna, and my knees were wet when I got up...yup it was multiple instances of dog PISS! It was the only time I said, NOPE go get your car cleaned and come back.

love most dogs, hate most people.

It’s a quite good looking car, it’s had a face lift at the front (this is a 2014 model), but essentially unchanged since I think 2006 or 2008 they came out. It still has a floor to roof B pillar so it’s not totally open.

Ye’, the dogs get a field to play in, and if the weather isn’t good, they go in the barn.

The security is good with plenty of cameras and people watching them.

Ye’, it’s not the dogs, it’s the people, granted this is a work horse but so many cars go unloved as they are seen as a tool ‘to get from A to B’ (I hate that saying), but what they don’t realise is they spend so much time in their cars these days, so at least give the interior a wipe down and a vacuum from time to time.

My wife takes our dogs (Boxer and English Mastiff) to work most days so our least “cool” car gets washed/detailed the most.

it’s not too bad. You get passed it really.

Going to treat it with a photocatalyst Odour destroyer. Uses the UV light to break down the odours that settle on the surface.

There’s loads of good stuff on the market at the moment.

When dogs get in the car it can leave a smell. I use CarPro So2Pure, it’s a photo catalyst air purifier coating that uses UV light to break down the odours that settle on it.

Ooooo. That looks nifty. I can’t find anything like that in the states. Most of them are the cheesy gloves (which I’ve tried).

Ye’, I bought these on eBay about six years ago, there was a small and a large one for £16.

Try looking up Maxollen or try ‘car pet hair removal tool’ and see what it throws up.

I did. I’d have to make an international order. I’m seriously considering that option....

Oh I will have to check that out. I’m actually paying someone to detail it this weekend because days away from our first child and I won’t have the time to do it myself between now and then.

Worth looking at if you have fabric seats or to protect the baby car seat.

Gtechniq I1v2ab. It’s a fabric coating that repels water and means that stains dry out onto the top of the fabric rather than dry into the fabric fibres, also the ‘ab’ means it’s anti bacterial.
