The BMW E90 335i got switched for a Buick Regal TourX. Definitely a bittersweet change, but a necessary one all the same.
Now she just needs a nickname.

Congrats! Saving the Wagons one Buick at a time. First Oppo to ever buy the TourX?

Nice!!! Why white though? Just curious.

Historical: Malcolm TourX
Really historical: TourXemada
Phonetic: TourX n Caicos
Suggestive/Phonetic: TourX Screw

Just give it the name of “The Boat”

It was between white and red in terms of available colors buick offers, and this white one on the lot had everything i wanted. Just have to wash it a lot though, I guess.

No idea, but for me the only TourX I’ve seen on the road is the one I now own...

I mean, this should be a Roadmaster.

Name suggestions:
* Wagon McWagonface
* Buick LONGBOYE
* USS Regal
* Opel Insignia Estate or just Insignia
In return, Oppo review ASAP

You’re a roadmaster, if you know what I mean....

White is good fam

You can always drill the rivets and turn it into a “custom” if you want some other colour, right?
![]() 05/29/2018 at 14:52 |
|
Wow, nice choice. Details? First impressions?
![]() 05/29/2018 at 14:55 |

White’s fine, but I am always shocked about the lack of colour among Oppo.
Where are the stripes and colours?????
![]() 05/29/2018 at 14:56 |

Haha great suggestions! I’ll get on the review as I drive it a bit more.

Maybe that didn’t sound modern enough for the current lineup?
![]() 05/29/2018 at 14:57 |

You’ve got enough of those for the entire forum!
![]() 05/29/2018 at 14:57 |

Haha I can always try, but that is a LOT of rivets...
![]() 05/29/2018 at 14:57 |

I was really hoping for a red one but there were none for sale in my area as far as I could tell.

How about just calling her Opal.
She’s white like an opal and she is a rebadged Opel.

nah, it’s not big enough to wear that title! we need a AWD Lacrosse wagon variant for that..

First impressions: looooots of space, as evidenced my my 9 year old son’s reaction when he sat in between 2 carseats this morning. Seats are pretty bucket-y, which I really appreciate after the BMW’s sporty hugging seats. For being a wagon that is billed as more of the allroad variety, it’s not very high off the ground, which is what drew me to this car and away from the Outback. The bodycladding, however, is very plastic, but it’s growing on me. The interior is comfy, I feel sad that I don’t have a manual ebrake anymore, but such is life. Also no CD player, I just now realized. Android Auto is pretty swell, but I’m definitely still figuring out the whole infotainment setup and climate control system. Power is pretty decent at 250hp/295lb.ft., and bodyroll is much better than I thought! The ride is of course a lot less hard than the E90 on Bilsteins, but not cushy at all either.
I do miss the E90's engine note and rumble on startup though...
Sorry for the rambling, but these are my first impressions after roughly 80 miles of driving.

I haven’t seen a new regal yet! I really would like one of these, well if i’m honest a GS. But i really like these too! having driven the malibu I think I could live with the size.. albeit a bit small for me.

That’s so money. A definite front runner!

I think I have enough to cover for him.

There can never be enough stripes/colour.

‘Tis. Hopefully we’ll get some actual winter weather next year so I can try it out on trickier surfaces.

All TourXs are AWDs by default and it seems to be a pretty good system.
C&D:
To solidify the TourX’s rugged appeal, all-wheel drive is standard, using a system identical to that found in the LaCrosse and the Envision. To accommodate spirited driving or limited-traction situations, Buick uses GKN’s twin-clutch, torque-vectoring Twinster rear differential to put power to the ground.

Perfect. Get a couple 1980's “Roadmaster” adhesive emblems on e-bay and put them on the car. Throw folks for a loop.

Let your Son name it. Nothing plants the automotive seed than getting to name your Father’s new car....

Great choice :)
Have you considered taking off the cladding and wrapping the metal left behind in white? Or wrapping the cladding in white?
Sorry, I’m not a huge fan of the cladding...

Mines only one colour but many hues in the sun.
That’s got to be enough to compensate.
![]() 05/29/2018 at 15:44 |

When are you going to Auto zone to add the port holes?
Kidding! Nice choice! I’m trying to convince my mom to get one, I think they’re really cool.

I haven’t seen any on the road yet either, apart from the one I’m driving! lol

I came up with the same name before I saw your post. Definitely has to go with that.
![]() 05/29/2018 at 16:21 |
|
Yes I have. I thought about some white plastidip + the glossifier. I’m probably gonna try it out because why not, but it might not look that good because the paint is kinda pearly (“White Frost Tricoat”) straight white cladding might look off. But imma definitely give it a shot! That was also one reason I was leaning towards a red TourX. LOL
![]() 05/29/2018 at 16:22 |

Can’t tell if that last sentence was also a low key dig. LOL
It is fsho long though. Apparently it’s an inch overall longer than our three-row Honda Pilot...

Lol no it wasn’t actually! Totally serious. She’s been a Buick only owner for ages despite my protests but this time around she was thinking of something else and I’ve been trying to convince her she needs a TourX.

OLYMPIA REKORD CARAVAN, as god intended.

Do you find yourself admitting that trim that runs down the D pillars and into the taillights? Because that is by far my favorite thing about the TourX

Spend the money and have it paint matched. It will look the business and hold up better.
![]() 05/29/2018 at 18:34 |
|
Maybe a wrapping/paint will give you a better result? See which one is cheaper.
I’d remove them all together. I’m sure the fenders and arches underneath are the same as the regular wagon....unless Buick decided to invest in separate tooling for the American market (I’d be surprised if they did).
![]() 05/29/2018 at 21:45 |

Oh yeah that is for sure a killer little detail!
![]() 05/29/2018 at 21:46 |

Might have to explore that option... Thanks for the tip!
![]() 05/29/2018 at 21:48 |

Hmm I’ll have to explore that. If I take it off, this would be the time to do it, while the body paint hasn’t faded at all yet. Good call!
