Race car.
The Koenigsegg CCGT, it was a GT1 spec car based on the CCX. By the time it was finished being developed GT1 the ACO & FIA changed the GT1 rules. Carbon monocoques were no longer allowed and minimum production numbers went from a total of 20 cars over several years to 350 cars over several years.
It sounds fantastic.

If the FIA ever create a hypercar class, the GT1 ‘Egg need to come back as-is or as a Regera.

The problem here is it’s not deliberately competitive nor is it safe enough which is why every race series in the world has boiled down to everyone driving the same car with different stickers on it.
It’s also why every race series in the world will eventually stop existing. When the cars are the same, it’s less exciting to watch and has less of an impact on showrooms, so nobody cares about it.

I don’t disagree with your criticisms, but I hope that the overall outcome is avoided.

Group C still had dimensional restrictions as well as fuel consumption regulations, namely 100L tanks and a maximum of five pitstops per 100km race. Not entirely wide open, that’d be more like Formula Libre of old.
