A cold fish tank of beer... Maybe some other warriors to talk about old times. I hope he can enjoy a fulfilling rest of his life.

hopefully a cabin in the woods so he can now relax, and remember his colleagues that never came home.

I hope he finds something he finds interesting and rewarding. I’m thinking his transition might be tough, (bad a$$es don’t always do so well sitting behind a desk pushing paper...)

Fallujah, my friend’s brother was in that battle. He even made it onto the history channel special on it. He’d sometimes share stories after a few drinks in a small group and the conversation warranted it. It’s always interesting learning about the capabilities of humans in unimaginable situations.

I was in the Army from 84-90 when there was zero going on and the first year after I got out was REALLY difficult.

Yes, and after you rise to that, you have to find something else to aspire to. That would be tough. I have a lot of respect for that guy. If you read the account, how he was in there looking out for the younger guys, urging them on.
