School ended for me a few weeks ago. Need to get a job and also assemble a computer. My laptop shit the bed right after finals (At least the timing wasn’t bad) and I’m building a desktop to replace it. Since I never used my laptop as a laptop when I had it.

Good news: I’m up to four smarts and two motorcycles. The latter of the latter is going to be “Mad Max”-ed out for the Illinois Gambler 500. I’ll call it the “Imperator Slowiosa” as it’s a 150cc scooter that will probably go the highway speed limit, but only just.

I have my first boyfriend ever! He makes me gush like a silly teenager. Tomorrow he gets his top surgery. It’s been a wild ride and we’ve only been together for two months.

Bad news: I’m actually pretty depressed today. I have to get all my cars out of my storage unit because the rent just got really stupid. However I also cannot move into my new storage unit until June 30...so I have to figure out where to hoard so many vehicles for a month.

HAI!!

How goes it? Very well :D

How am I? Having a great time driving! (but not driving while writing this, I’m a safe driver :)

What’s shaking? My front suspension on my MR2, because the subframe is all sketchy.

Latest good news? I found a heavy-duty replacement subframe!

Latest bad news? It’ll require custom fabrication and will be pretty expensive...

Latest mundane news? My 5S-FE Camry engine in my MR2 has gone 8000 miles since the fuel pump was replaced. All I’ve done is maintain the oil level and have it changed on occasion, and it’s been dead reliable. I can drive it all-out and never have an issue. It’s literally so reliable that I feel weird about driving it. Like, HOW am I driving a 28-year-old mid-engine sportscar with 150,000 miles on it and it doesn’t at least break down at some point? Like, bwoah, I’m driving a massively fun old car and it’s not giving me any headaches! The sheer mundanity of it is actually super exciting.

Have a vintage Mustang :D

The 2JZ engine is slightly less vintage but I like it. If I put a Mustang engine in my MR2 maybe that’ll make up for it :D

There’s actually one near here where you pay like 10 bucks and can catch a double feature. Drive-ins are awesome. :)

That orange is AMAZING! I wish Ford’s current version was more like this. Instead, it’s a little too red and actually looks like a shade of red on anything but the sunniest of days. But the one on that vert is the yummiest shade of sherbet. MMMM!

The whole “ordering a carpet sample” thing is because Ford put a weird seat fabric I haven’t been able to trace in that car for the giggles, which meant I needed to come up with something close-ish, but frankly didn’t have to be a match. I got something that goes with the interior, but is brighter - I’d call it a win.

What about a Walmart parking lot? There’s always people with RVs and travel vans and stuff who park at the local Walmart here. I think as long as you play musical parking spots a couple of times, you’d be okay.

Also... care to give one of those bikes to your favorite Texan Oppo? Hehehe.

After some brain calculations and recalling a conversation I had yesterday with the management company that owns my building, I think I’ll be fine. I’ll stay in my current unit, but ask why am I not getting the online rate. I’ll then move one of the cars home.

Not moving will save me some money. The unit is significantly smaller (10x20 vs 15x30) and $40 more a month, however I can’t really afford to pay deposit on the new unit and pay this month’s rent at my current unit on top of normal bills. If I can get the online rate, then I won’t be losing any money at all, just losing space.

Per the management company, you get two resident spaces and two visitor spaces. There isn’t a time limit for the visitor spaces, sooooo there we go! I’m going to pile the two daily smarts next to each other, then one of the motorcycles, then my boyfriend gets the last space. The other two smarts and the other motorcycle will chill out in the storage unit.

Oh, you wouldn’t want my new bike:

It’s a 2008 Bashan MC-16-150T scooter with a 150cc engine. It’s ten years old, but in that time it’s only moved 3 miles. My project is to get it running, then make it into a Mad Max style cafe racer thing. I’ll then join shop-teacher for this year’s Gambler 500.

Once I get my license, my daily bike will be this 2001 Buell Blast. :)

Lost my long time dog to heart worms on a Friday. That Saturday someone dumped a dog off at my Mom’s coworker’s house. So, I lost one but gained one. Gained dog:

She also has/had heart worms, but it looks like it was caught early on, and she had her last treatment on Friday!

College. I did summer school full time last year, so I’m really gonna appreciate the break. At least with minimum wage type jobs you don’t have to take work home with you. The most annoying part about college for me is all the homework and such you have to manage on your own time.

Good news: I’m halfway into my graduation project, which is nice, because I get the feeling that I’m really doing innovative engineering stuff now! (Batteries for electric. cars)

Bad news: I’m halfway into my graduation project, and I don’t know what I should do next... Find a job, start my own business, or do a PhD. I’m still undecided, luckily I’ve got 3 months remaining to make up my mind.
