That is pretty cool, I never knew he got into car design. I’ve heard about the furniture, clothing, and car dealers, but never cars.

It was his personal car, he was somewhat known as a lover of speed and apparently bombed around in the thing pretty often.

FLW was most definitely a car guy. He was one of the earliest prominent architects to fully embrace the car and account for it in his buildings, invented the car port, and spoke of the personal automobile as the greatest agent for positive societal change ever created. He owned a number of interesting luxury cars over his lifetime (Packards, Mercedes, and a Duesenberg), with varying degrees of modification, but pretty much always painted in his own signature shade of Cherokee Red.

i knew the importance he thought of cars in architecture, but i had no idea he had it as a hobby. So I like cars and am an architect, so that basically makes me him right... right???
