Just FYI - the ST hatches have full size spare tires. So if you’re on the other side of the state when you discover you have a nail in the sidewall, you can very easily swap on a spare tire to drive at highway speeds to get home instead of mounting the insult to tires we all call the “donut”

Did this actually happen to you? Because that would suck. The ST is also very handy for moving. Figuring out how to fold the seats completely flat in the back gives alllll of the room

It did, but it wasn’t too bad thanks to the aforementioned spare :P

Ha, at least a donut is something. I just got a used NC Miata and it came with no jack, no spare, just a can of spray goo. And I’m told that if you ever use that crap, not only is your tire irreparably ruined but you also have to replace the TPMS sensor at $100 each.

So my question is, should I hunt down a spare that would fit, or get an AAA membership instead? Some people say you don’t really need a spare, but they don’t drive onto as many construction job sites as I do; I pull nails out of my tires at least every couple years.

Spare tire for sure. You just never know and on a busy night, you might have to wait a while for a tow.
