Skoda Fabia wagon (similar to this below)

Kinja'd!!!

vs

Kinja'd!!!

BK Holden Astra hatch (not actual car pictured)

as my current car has 687k km on odd, and is developing a rattle which i’m not sure will get it to 700k, looking at these options

my preference would be a new Suzuki Swift sedan GA spec (only reason being it has manual windows - but sadly Suzuki Australia don’t import it)

it’s either one of these or get another engine for my Lancer

decisions decisions.....

I’m here to vouch for the Fabia Combi.

Manual windows! We think alike my friend! :)

I like manual versions of things....less to go wrong! And, at least here in Canada in the winters, Manual windows you can almost always get open....power windows seem to freeze up a lot worse :/

Samara!

But that would only add to a series of ‘interesting’ choices. Easy to rule out the Opel but the Fabia could be a good thing. Probably?

Putting another engine in the Lancer would be like giving a 10 year old labrador a hip replacement.

Between those two? The Opel Astra. It’s a compact while the Fabia is a subcompact. It’ll be nicer than the Fabia too; the Fabia should be cheaper than an Opel Corsa, it should be way cheaper than the Astra.

Fabia for me. Not a big fan of the Astra.

I love Skoda, but on this would have to say the Astra.

The Fabia is a great looking nimble little car, a size down from the Astra, but still a great car. The estate however just looks like an Octavia estate has been put in a vice and squashed from all sides.

The Astra is in the higher segment, though the Fabia being an estate means the interior space over all is about the same. The Astra would be cheaper in the long run for parts and labour.

If it was the Fabia hatchback then I’d definitely go for the Fabia hatchback just for it’s compact nimbleness.
