I tried Suntory’s offerings...tasted like a less Scotchy Scotch. Not necessarily in the good way.

I’ve been mourning the price spike of Yamazaki 18 for a few years already. I once picked up a bottle for $90, but then came the awards and demand spike, prices doubled quickly, and now it’s just... ouch . It’s really, really good, but certainly not $400+ good.

Here’s hoping that I can ride out Nikka’s Coffey Malt for a while longer since they’re still clocking in at a very reasonable $55/750ml.

I’m going to the liquor store today to see what they have in the Japanese Whisky variety, so we’ll see what’s available to stock up. I noticed the last few months that a lot of varieties are hard to come by.
