Listening to San Fran Co-Workers Complain about 3.70 a gallon gas in their Prius while I roll 5.32 a gallon in the banana peel.

Yup, I’m running $6.31 a gallon Shell V Power in the G35.

Costco gas plus E30 mixture means I’ve gotten my gas price down to about $2.90.

Where is gas over $5? Canada?

I have the same reaction to people in countries other than the US telling me how much gas costs them. It’s like if you told me that ballet slippers were on sale: I simply don’t give a shit.

Yupp, its about 1.33 a liter in the province that is typically one of the cheapest.

As a Prius driver... Bring on $5 gas. Or $6 gas. Or $10 gas.

I paid $1.85 per liter for 94 octane the other day.

That is $7 per gallon.

Been hitting up Costco as much as possible lately though. 91 octane was roughly $1.60/L last I checked.

I’ve been buying premium octane only for years since I consistently drive cars that always seem to require it. Rather have the HP advertised than save .30 a gallon with knock and reduced timing.

Clearly I went into this with eyes open. If I didn’t at least accept it, I’d get another car. Who’s got time to pointlessly complain about fuel costs when there is almost nothing you can personally do about it aside from changing your own consumption?

I remember when the gas prices spiked really high last time and I kept getting weird looks for prepaying $75 to fill my car up. It was a ‘97 328is, but it had a 16 gallon tank, which is apparently on the large size for a small(ish) car. Half the cashiers wouldn’t believe I could get anywhere near $75.
