Today my stupid clutch pedal started squeaking like a mouse being gently stepped on. Picture that and then put it on a loop as I drive in a city(ish) environment to work. Annoying.
I’ve only owned Hondas/Acuras since my first car and honestly, never had as many issues as my Si has given me. From the now squeaking clutch pedal, a crappy and plastic CMC, to quite possible the worst rev hang I’ve ever experienced...ugh. I’m keeping the Si for a while more but I think my next car will have a totally different badge

My 2009 Si and the 2001 Accord before that drove me into the loving (if abusive) arms of Volvo.

Currently sits at a tick over 119k, with me having owned it since 107k.

The clutch pedal in my STi squeaks just like that too. I’ve just gotten used to it.

Maybe the previous owner fucked it up somewhat.

I knew within 2 weeks of having an Odyssey that I’d never consider Hondacura ever again.
It’s not about being a minivan, which inherently sort of sucks. It’s about attention to detail, surprise, delight, and generally not feeling a sense of contempt towards your car.
I’ve never had that emotion before.
The only thing keeping it going is that it holds all our stuff, basic maintenance is easy (tranny change is easier than oil because Honda knows themselves), and if the worst happens, it’s really safe.

I’d really hope not, the forums are telling me its that or apparently the cylinder the clutch pedal connects to dries up in the humid weather and needs a bush fix.

It’s OK! It only hurts me because it loves me! :sob:
Actually I’ve had the Volvo for over 5 years and it hasn’t had any major problems. The factory windshield seal failed (WTF?), one of the visors cracked ($14), and the front logo fell off (known issue) but overall not bad.
Compare that to my Civic, which had to have the rack and pinion replaced from a factory defect (but took them two years to determine that), or the Accord which was constantly losing traction control and SRS sensor... and the transmission... I’ll take the Volvo.

Yeah my friend is a volvo fanatic and ive heard the weird volvo tales of “issues”. Its quite odd

Just do it. I still may be writing an article soon on why the Lexus LS is one of the best used cars anyone can buy.

Mine ended with my 14 Accord sport. It was a totally underwhelming car. Crap seats, crap radio, crap paint, poorly matched “sport” shocks and springs. And it was slow.
My own damn fault for buying it - had blinders on when I test drove it; thinking of old Preludes, SI’s, and other great Honda’s from years past.
Traded it for a 17 GTI and couldn’t be happier.

I want an IS-F but my work situation may be turning into a full time work from home job. If that comes true, im not buying something to sit i my driveway.

That is actually probably optimal. I need to write a full blurb on it, but the ISF sits at home while I commute with the LS. The ISF has a small gas tank, munches tires, and is really frustrating to drive in traffic(not because it’s bad at going slow, I just want to go so much faster ). The ISF will get probably get driven more if I ever somehow get a stay at home job.
