When I moved into my dorm this year, I packed my car pretty full of stuff and drove to college with it. Now I’m not sure how I’m gonna get everything home again. Why the issue you ask? Well, if you’ll recall, back in August I was driving this:
And now, I drive this:
Fortunately the 30 gallon aquarium with stand went home for winter break & never returned, so hopefully the remaining items will fit more or less okay. Can’t be worse than trying to the mini-fridge in the Audi last year.

Small UHaul trailer will work - think you can also get a temp tow hitch.

Does the Saab have a roof rack? That helps out a ton when it comes to hauling larger stuff.

If I can get a temporary hitch I may do that.

Yeah I mounted some cross-bars which I could use for a roof bag. Trouble is my roof bag is at home. At least the bike can go up there.

I may be talking out my ass, but I think a temp hitch is out there, and there’s probably a place near you that deals with students all the time.

Maybe see if
walmart has one of these bungie
nets small enough for your roof rack. I had a tiny one for my motorcycle, and it was amazing what it could hold without needing a bag or box or anything else. It’d happily hold a garbage bag full of clothes or a couple of stacked boxes.

How far is home? You can rent an HD pickup and car trailer from Enterprise truck rental but they usually only do in-town rentals, not one way. Maybe the other truck rental places have options.

Its the universe getting back at you for letting a 100 series go :) But I still respect the decision to keep an even more odd car on the road then an LX470.

Why not just spend a couple hundred on a permanent hitch? It opens up a whole world of accessories.

In the days of big steel bumpers, temporary hitches definitely existed. I kinda doubt such a thing exists for a modern car.

Keeping odd cars on the road (or at least trying) is something my family seems to enjoy.

I got the roof rack instead. I didn’t really want a permanent hitch on the car, though I was given that option when I bought it.

Proving once again that I do, in fact, have antique value.
