..I discovered the most obnoxious part of a car to clean after you spill a soda on it.
This shifter slot right here. In hindsight, I should have taken a before photo, but it was uber grody. I miss the simple leather boot on a manual shifter. So much easier. Mr. Regular was on to something with his assessment of modern slush shifters in the LS400 review...”I LIKE TO PUSH THE BUTTON.”
Cheap but decent sushi eases all annoyances.

I knew that shifter before I saw the confirmation. I have taken that entire assembly out more than once.

How do get IN there? I am sure there is more soda that I couldn’t reach. Please tell me I don’t have to disassemble the entire dash.

My cat puked in the vents on top of my Xbox. I imagine it’s comparable to that?
(I’ve only spilled black coffee in my car).

That sushi looks delicious! Now I also want sushi. Too bad there isn’t any place around here that makes decent one Dammit!

Hence why drinks are banned from the car unless they have proper lids or bottles with screw tops replaced tightly each time and even then they are not allowed near anything electronic.

My mom’s Sienna has the same shifter and it’s all flimsy and loose and it creaks and flexes anytime you so much as look at it and it’s just the worst thing ever.

Plastic tools and being very careful not to crack it. You basically just pull the wood up around the shifter.

Ev en that’s not enough. My buddy was coming over to show off his new truck. He stopped to pick up pizza and a two-liter of Coke which he placed on the back seat. Someone pulled out in front of him, so he slammed on the brakes. The Coke bottle rolled off the seat, hit the floor, and found the only pointy thing under the seat. The hole was small, so the Coke turned into a high-pressure fountain, soaking the back of the front seat, the back seat, and even getting into the headliner. He called me up and told me I’d have to go get my own pizza if I wanted anything. He spent the next few hours cleaning his not-so-brand-new truck.

Ouch. Doh.
I put bottles on the floor and have a hook on the back of a front seat for small amounts of shopping.
In the boot, the car came with velcro boot tidies to stop larger amounts of shopping rolling about.
Of course I also have a wet’dry vacuum at home should anything go wrong.

Those 20 year old Siennas run as long as these Lexi do! I have an ex-girlfriend who still tools about in a 98 Sienna. It looks like death, but still trucks around like no one’s business.
