House went live on the MLS this morning.

People must be looking over lunch. Showing hours are from 5-7pm weekdays. Entire block has been booked for tonight. 3 Showings, all booked within an hour.

Stay tuned as I pit potential buyers against each other in a cage match...

Good luck! We were the first to check out the house we bought, came in with 15 over to make sure we weren’t forgotten. It worked, it was pretty rough when we got in, but we redid the whole inside, and now I kinda want to pretend to sell it to see people flip-out when they see the 14x14 master closet. Our area is super close to NYC so buying process gets very heated.

I would do that but I want to use the equity as a down payment on the next. Asking for 45 days of back rent. Should be enough to close on the next. Have two lined up to see this weekend.

We are just a little further in the same process. We listed on a Tuesday night, showing started Wednesday and it was sold by Thursday night. I think there were a dozen viewings. Unfortunately the same process applied for us buying a place but we got lucky, though at a cost.

Good luck. Although I am in Texas, my company is in FL and the CEO wants me to move at some point (although I have at least another year because my deal was that I’m not moving until my middle kid is out of HS). But my wife found a house she really likes and it’s actually at the low end of our price range (technically, a little below — but there’s some serious remodeling that needs to be done). So I may end up owning a house in Texas and another in Florida - yah me!

I wanted to use the equity for the down payment too, but I’m just going to dump it into the new one when the old one sells. My predicament is that the market I’m moving to is so hot things are moving within a few days of listing, so I pretty much had to put in an offer on one that I liked so that I could have a chance at having a place to live by the time my new job starts. Good luck with the back rent! We did that with the PO of our house when we bought it and it worked well.

I may end up having to do a full finance and then just pay the mortgage out of the equity, depending on how things shake out. I’d like to avoid that but we’ll see.

I want to view a house tomorrow for the open house but it may be off the market today. It listed Tuesday. From their agents email the current offer is significantly above the ask.

It is unreal.

We put in the offer on the house we’re buying without me ever having seen it in person. I had to work but my wife was able to get time to go look at it the day after it was listed. It’s totally insane.

I’m getting a bunch of runaround now that started last night about raising the amount they need down all of a sudden. Dealing with lenders sucks.
