I hate these things. Someone finally got the right idea and took off the covers so we can just grab what we need instead of pull-wait-pull-wait-pull-wait to get a decent length of paper towel.

I’ve been taking the cover off the toilet paper dispenser in the nearest bathroom to my office, because a) it’s mounted too low so you have to stoop down so your head is like, even with the toilet seat, to get any paper from it and b) the paper is like 1 micron thick so you not only need 5' of it to be of any use, but you also can’t pull on it AT ALL without it ripping.
HFV has no HFV. But somehow has 2 motorcycles

You don’t need to wait for the sensors to reset, just give the exposed towel a slight yank, and that will reset it without the wait.

I do that, but it still takes too long. On the ones that are mounted up high you can just pull and override it, but I prefer the new system shown above.

FYI, if you have a 3D printer you can print the keys to that kingdom .
Alternatively I’ve seen eBay/ Amazon sell assortment of paper towel dispenser keys, depending on how far you want to take this war.

I found that this cheap little key on my key ring opens up the machines perfectly. I have reset a few of these stupid dispensers when they had them set to short towels and long delay.
Ages ago, when I was dirt poor, I found it more cost effective to buy a $3 key for the toilet paper dispenser and just steal the paper. These were the huge rolls, 12" in diameter or so and would last for months. This was at a major airport I worked at, outside of the customs area. I’d bring back the empty spool so it looked like the dispenser just ran out rather than looking like someone stole the paper.

The paper towel ones are not that bad, its the sink ones that I absolutely hate. I end up having to slap the shit out of the faucet before I actually get any water on my hands. And they are always set to some sort of “water saving” mode that just sprinkles you with some water.
