Preferably ones where the official video is already excellent.
The Offspring’s video for Dividing By Zero/Slim Pickens is excellent, and arguably Offspring’s best. But this is goddamn gorgeous visually and matches the music unbelievably well.
The original video for those who haven’t seen it:

Damn. Those were intense. The first one had a serious Heavy Metal vibe to it. I dig.

Intense
was exactly the word I was going to use.
I tried to watch the original video first but did not manage to finish it – my kind of music it ain’t. But the new version is absolutely mesmerising; so much so that I was not even noticing the sound.

That sort of music (does the genre even have a name?) is not my go-to sound but, like country music, there is a time and a place. I think that what makes that music popular is the visceral, almost primal, energy, and both videos do a good job of illustrating that.

Not really a fan music video (and certainly not as involved as the animation that went into your example) but I’ve always thought this song by Little Dragon fits really well over this scene from Endless Summer. Then again, it’s beautiful old surf footage and almost anything would go well with it

I agree. Notice I wasn’t trying to judge: what really surprised me was that even though I did not really appreciate the music, the images really kept me glued to the screen.
I wonder how true to the real thing are the gauges and so on? Although I caught a funny typo -
maksimum.
I also wonder whether the fuel gauge wouldn’t say something like
Treibstoff
instead of
Benzin?

I had trouble finding a good photograph of a Bf 109 instrument cluster. This is from an Bf 110, so while the arrangement is different, I believe the basic gauge is the same. I may be completely wrong, but it looks like it simply measures the liters, with no indication of what it’s called. I’m certain that there is just a little bit of artistic license going on with the video so the viewer can understand the situation. I’m also fairly certain that there isn’t a counter that indicates how many bullets are left.

Sail vs. Sail. Use the fan made one check video quality on stuff.

Great picture, thanks!
I was going to ask you that, in fact - was there some sort of indicator that warned you were going to be out of rounds soon?
Yep, the counter was a useful narrative prop.
Just found this:

The Germans, so organized. In both a/c, the fuel gauge is outlined in yellow, engine temp outlined in blue. Easy to spot when things get—busy.

If this is to be trusted, it seems that the Bf 110 did, in fact, have an ammo counter. Full size

I can’t get over how well the music and the video compliment each other. The clip is from the short film Paths of Hate, and I think it’s actually even more visceral and intense in music video form than in the original film.

I’ll have to watch that tomorrow. I love this style of animation/artwork.

And now for something completely different.
