As I read this story, I remember Donald Trump’s crusade about Barack Obama’s birth certificate. Perhaps Avenatti will run for POTUS later on.

I’m waiting for Avenatti to make Cohen to crack in public. I am sure he has some of his Russian mafia buddies (no collusion!) watching Avenatti right now - I hope the guy has a good security force. If Avenatti completes this task, maybe he can go after 45 directly. The corruption of this regime knows no bounds, and just as Trump seems to personify the seven deadly sins, Cohen personifies a charming mix of ineptitude and crookedness.

What I would like to know is how Mueller is different from Kenneth Star. I’m sure there were plenty of Dems bellyaching throughout that ordeal. But seriously: Trump was this big showman trying to get under BHO’s skin. Trump must have a really bad hate for Avenatti right now. I hope Cohen’s security is good as well because Trump would probably rather see Cohen wearing concrete shoes right now.
Will there be a North Korea deal? You’d have to hand credit for it to Trump.

Alexander Emric Jones is an American radio show host and conspiracy theorist. He hosts The Alex Jones Show from Austin, Texas, which airs on the Genesis Communications Network and shortwave radio station WWCR across the United States and online. (Wikipedia)
And now I know.
There are two distinct narratives in the country right now and it pays to follow them both and find the overlap. And I think Li’l Fat Kim is playing Donald Trump hard.

Mueller has the ability to greatly hinder the worst president in history? That might be the difference. I think Cohen may have more powerful ties than 45 - probably leading at least indirectly to good ‘ol Vlad (who 45 also worships). I suspect Cohen’s pals launder money through a certain real estate empire, too.
In my not so humble opinion, China and South Korea get the vast majority of credit for anything involving North Korea. I have little doubt China is the key player. 45 is using it as a distraction from the virtually endless web of corruption his inner circle is involved with at home.

Trump’s torn up our part of the Iran deal, showing that any potential agreement with North Korea is worthless—he’s destroyed all credibility the U.S. regarding diplomacy for (I’m going to guess) decades.
So, as per the usual for Trump’s administration, he’s done nothing positive. “I’m the best negotiator, believe me. Believe me.”

China and South Korea have a ton of skin in the game due to proximity. They also have diplomats and leaders that aren’t either grossly out of their depth, understaffed, or flat-out incompetent. They’re the adults in the room, Trump’s at the kiddie table shouting “I’m here, I organized this whole thing—give me credit and ice cream.”

No doubt someone like Jinping (hell, even Putin for that matter) could absolutely school 45 when it comes to savvy. Not saying much though, now that the effective leader of the free world is Merkel. I am sure none of them appoint donors and son-in-laws to sensitive positions facing intelligence and national security.
Kim visiting China just several weeks ago is also one hell of a coincidence.

I had not considered that. But then, why should Li’l Fat Kim be any more believed than 45? Still, what I meant to suggest was that there’s no way Hillary would be sitting across from Kim and Kim would still be blowing up mountains. I guess. It’s not like I am any sort of expert on the subject...

Hillary (while dumb af) is not dumb enough to actually sit down with Kim.
Here’s how the summit will go:
1. Kim gets a photo op with the POTUS sitting down with him, treating him and NK as an equal (something his dad and Grandfather could never accomplish because no other POTUS would be so stupid to fall for his ploy)
2. Kim shows the photos of his new-found respect to his people/subjects to buttress his own legitimacy.
3. End of story. Did you *REALLY* expect Kim would give up the ONE THING that has legitimized him (his nukes)????

I think Kim is way smarter than DOTUS. Way smarter. What hasn’t happened yet is nothing has yet gone horribly wrong. All out war between Israel and Iran? Would that qualify as something having gone horribly wrong?

I claim no expertise, but I think Kim is playing Trump — HARD — and Kim is much smarter and way more wily than Trump. Still, and with my lack of expertise, I do not expect anything different than what you predict.

I don’t think much money can be made in the SK/NK drama show. A fortune can be made in the Israel/Iran drama - hence recent policy.
Until Kim and his family are long gone, there’s no real progress on the peninsula. If anything, 45 legitimizing Kim will keep him in power longer. Dictators of a feather stick together.

Are you talking about sales of bombs and bullets for a Mideast war?
Dictators of a feather stick together.
Funny. Not. I think this will be zero more than a propaganda coup for Kim and likely helpful to China hegemony, if I use that h-word correctly.

Bombs, bullets, machinery, oil - lots of well-connected profits to be had in this war. Not nearly so much to be made if DPRK does anything, which I have doubts it was ever going to anyway.
The sad thing is the base will think Trump is the great negotiator for real, not realizing that he’s not really behind any of this. I think this is all Jinping getting his satellite state to settle down, and Kim trying to show his own base that he’s legit. China is allowing Trump to be a player, maybe related to the favors Javanka is granting to rich embezzler/money launderer nationals for investments in his fronts.

When I was 17 or 18, early 80s, there was a guy I worked with at my first job who was a college art teacher and a Vietnam veteran. He had a beard and long hair and always had a beautiful, tall, curvaceous woman at his side; a student, no doubt. Always a good deal younger than he. Kevin, his name, used to tell me, “Matt: [Vietnam] was all about the fucking money. All about money.” He told me stories about his time in the infantry that I could not fathom. I just could not wrap my head around any of what he was telling me.

My uncle is a Vietnam vet, Marines, he voluntarily joined up and went over, was kind of a badass (is now a fairly mellow 71 year old). He loathes Trump and the weird military fetish which has been such a thing since at least Dubya’s era. He’s told some wild stories too, and still suffers from a little PTSD around the 4th of July. If a combat vet thinks the praetorian-industrial complex is bullshit, that says something.
But somehow, we’re supposed to abide by the feelings and actions of people who’s domestic and foreign policy knowledge is based on barely been awake in a high school civics class 40 years ago. Sounds like a good plan.
