You know what I love the best about A:IW?
It proves that beyond a shadow of doubt that the executives and producers of both DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are a bunch of fucking idiots! I have no quarrels with the actors, writers, and directors (except for Jos Whedon — fuck him, too!). It is and always will be the suits meddling with production, scripts, editors, faux focus groups, blah blah blah. Just let them make a goddamn movie and not an unnecessary [and forced] shared universe.
Also I know it won’t happen, but Zack really should be allowed to at least finish the Man of Steel films.

Meanwhile the TV and movie studios have no line of communicating at all so when AOS ends up catching up to the events of AIW, they won’t know how to script it properly. Right now they’re already diverging somewhat from what was shown in movie.

Snyder should just walk away. There is no creativity to be had there.

They gave up on that after Agents of Shield acted basically as “what’s going on off-camera during Captain America: The Winter Soldier” with the whole Hydra takeover of SHIELD, putting viewers in a situation where they would get the movie spoiled for them if they watched the show before they saw the movie.

Snyder was already fired, right when his daughter died. The studio just used that as an excuse to cover why he was stepping away to grieve and Whedon was coming in to finish what they wanted.

The whole hydra takeover felt like so long ago. The last two seasons have been great but now they’ve bookended it with another movie and it’s just odd pacing. Two episodes to go and the entirety of humanity is at stake, with some vague mention of the nutsack chin man.
The netflix shows have been better in overall production quality but the storylines are so separated from everything shield related. (but this may also be because the movies are set a few years ahead)

What I think happened is the whole point of the MCU is to give the comic book interconnected continuity experience without all the work that goes into following comics, but they realized that having movies and TV shows were making it just as much work.

I know it’s not going to happen, but I would love to see snyder direct short films or like an OVA anime series and let him revisit his views on heroines in the action genre like suckerpunch. I don’t think it holds up for an entire feature film but DAMN that would be a mind blowingly fun half hour, give or take. Especially if he had like a short multi-part series.
IDEA! Someone at one of the studios needs to grow a pair and let snyder direct like a mini-series of 10 minute “episodes” that play before the main hero films starring a more B-list hero/heroine that couldn’t otherwise hold a whole film. Just a 10 minute long roller coaster. That’s what I want from him.

Warner Bros. tried cashing in on the superhero mine without the buildup. Straight to the payoff without any hard work. Disney gambled with the Marvel heroes they had left after the publication got gutted, and even then Avengers 1 had a 50/50 chance of being a flop, which would have put the kibosh on the entire project.
Now, 10 years later, Marvel gets to reap the rewards of patience and consistency. Now, everyone will wait for Avengers 4 and Thanos’ defeat. Now the clamor for a new Fantastic Four is even louder. Even if Disney’s acquisition of Fox is bad on so many levels, it does mean that Marvel can finally work their magic on the franchises they missed out on (Universal, give She-Hulk back), and can now do whole new arcs with fresh new faces and unique stories that kids and not-kids will enjoy for as long as there are comics.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the single biggest project in the history of entertainment. It’s so surreal.
