Here are some neat cars from the first show of the season. I only really bothered to take pictures of particularly interesting, dumb, or weird things, so there are no Ferraris or Lamborghinis or 911 GT3s here, but take my word for it: there were many of them to be seen. Same goes for all the Nissan GT-Rs. I wish I had documented the fact that there were 8 NSXs at widely varying levels of preservation, from “daily-driven survivor with next to no clearcoat left on the hood” to “spotless garage queen that was probably purchased for $50,000 within the last 30 days.” My favorite single sight was probably a baby seat crammed into the back of an otherwise pretty track-focused 964 911 Turbo, but there was too much glare to get a picture. Anyway, a good time was had by all. Here goes:
Yes please.
Shelby Cobra GT500
Lancia Delta HF Integrale—there were two, but this one was the less rusty of the pair.
Javelin
Pristine M6
Even pristine-er early 911, in a period-appropriate color.
This Saleen S7 was very popular.
Here’s an interesting one—a Ferrari “Tributo.” What is it?
It’s a custom-built fiberglass body on a Miata! Underneath, it’s all Miata.
This is a really ugly roof box on an otherwise only moderately ugly wrapped Porsche.
G-wagen 4x4 Squared, squared
A squared square
TFW, known only to McLaren owners, when your headlight assembly is more brake cooling duct than headlight.

Couple of things:
1. You missed the Blackwood. Guys. There was a Lincoln Blackwood there.
2. That Integrale was parked near my work a few weeks ago and i peeked inside and saw this, which i thought was pretty hilarious.

Funny, Lincoln is no less interesting than the wrapped Porsche, maybe more so.

The Javelin and green 911 are interesting, along with the E24.
G 4x4x4x4 seems like the perfect rig for someone who owns multiple vacant houses and condos in Bellevue.

The S7 is striking in person. It is very large

For reference, a Yukon is only 15" longer and 3" wider.

It’s definitely less obnoxious.

The Miata-based 60's-looking Fauxrrari was pretty interesting too—built by a custom shop on Whidbey Island.
And I hate to stereotype, but I saw them arrive and would theorize that the drivers of the 4x4xwhatevers were definitely the sons of people who own multiple vacant houses and condos in Bellevue for the specific reason that vacant houses and condos in Bellevue are a really good way to get your money offshore and out of state-owned banks while the gettin’s good.

That was my first reaction. It’s also striking how small the cabin is despite the overall size—the door sills are like 18" wide.

Any of you folks there when the neon green Huracan in the main mall area started up and left? Holly cow was that thing loud - spectacular, (goofy body color accent wheels though...) I also go to watch them turn away a beautiful green AMG GT R - too late, no more room... It had to park out on the street. :)

Any more pics of the 250GT-SD or whatever one can call it? A labor of love, no doubt - you don’t go that far unless you are committed.
I love to stereotype when it comes to local “investors”, you hit the nail on the head. Funny how “extreme vetting” doesn’t apply when you have enough money, no questions asked. Sure will be a shame when that axe falls.

No, but I heard a Viper rev its engine at a pedestrian obliviously blocking the road. Dude looked like he nearly shit himself. And I saw that AMG GT R parked on the street on the walk back to my also-too-late parking spot.
Also also, I liked the random Ford Focus that somebody left overnight, sitting there with a parking ticket right in the middle of the show. I enjoyed imagining that poor bastard showing up at 9:30 am to pick up his car...

I didn’t take more, but here’s one I found online:
Here’s
the website
of the guy who built it.

Yeah it was the first time i’d ever seen one. It reminds me of the (ecoboost) ford GT, way bigger in person than in photos.

Awesome! It would be fun to drive with an automotive twin (and all you other excellent people as well, of course). As of this evening I was definitely planning to go, but an unfolding emergency affecting my in-laws may prevent it. So far everyone is OK as far as I know, but I’ll know more about the situation in the morning and unfortunately won’t be able to decide for sure until then.

Oh no! I hope everything turns out ok!
Edit: he has a 507 but I don’t think he’s going to drive that for fear of gravel and stuff on the road. So he’ll probably drive his 207 E550 coupe with the turbo V8 instead. Either way
