Off topic, but “since I’ve got you here”, I thought I’d ask your opinion as an Orchestra Man on Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells . I’ve been listening to it a bit lately. My own take is that portions of it are dated, other portions don’t quite hold together, but as a prog-rock chamber music suite of sorts it’s worthy of attention. Interesting time signature work, and so on. Funny enough, I think the center section (with the “introduced” instruments) is electrifying as is, but would be even better if edited, reworked a little bit for more substance, and given a more truly orchestral treatment.
Just some thoughts I had sitting here while it plays in the background.

I’ve heard of it, but I’m not familiar with it. I’ll give it a listen and get back to you.
