Caliber... Customer concern: Small squeaking noise while turning. Test drive lasted once I touched the brakes and immediately took the car into the shop. Driving at 5 mphs was frightening, I can’t even imagine how this thing was on the highway.

Fun fact: RockAuto’s MOST expensive front bearing for a 2WD Expedition like this is about ten bucks. Could have done both front inners & outers, plus grease seals and spent about $60 (or less) in parts. Too late for that now...

Car came in on a flatbed. Says he tried replacing the spark plugs to fix a misfire... A helicoil was installed but still didn’t run right. No compression. Finally took the head off and found both of those valves chipped. Were they chipped before or after he fucked up the threads, we have no idea. Found the cylinder walls also damaged...

LOL I used to try to avoid changing owner settings, but I had a change of heart after one encounter with a Jeep Rubicon. The seat position favored the tall owner, and I couldn’t quite push the clutch all the way to the floor...
I managed to avoid crashing it, but it was so awkward to drive that I swore never to put myself in that position again. Now, I won’t hesitate to adjust the seat, and the mirrors too, if I need to. Especially if I have to take it on a test drive.

eh tbh... the settings dont matter so much itll be wrong when you give it back anyhoo...
having a not you butt in the drivers seat somehow ruins it (least for a day or two till the seat remembers to form to your butt again)
(same with bike saddles.... thas why i dont let anyone else ride my bike)

Re the seat adjustment:
Last year I had a customer be a bitch and get all worked up that I moved her seat back when I heard her say, “Really?!?! You’re not even that much taller than me.”
I refrained from going home and grabbing x-rays of what was left of my hip and explaining how excruciatingly painful it was to try and contort myself into cars. Asshole.

Lol I always try not to move them, but I work on cars ranging from NBA centers to small Asian women. Sometimes I can’t reach the pedals and sometimes I can’t even get in the car to begin with.
