There’s a lot to like in this photo. That’s a Sud Aviation Caravelle I of SAS on the tarmac at the Bromma Airport near Stockholm in 1961. And that looks like a Convair 440 in the background, and perhaps another on the right. But the SAS splitty with the luggage rack steals my heart.

And a Volvo Duett at right, I suspect a 544.

I wonder if it’s the VW that has drawn the attention of the woman with the scarf and her behatted little girl? Similarly, I wonder what the stewardess way off to the right is up to, on the other side of the luggage cart? The one near the entry stars is obviously to direct people into the plane.
I was curious what that uniform looked like, since it looks a little odd in miniature. So, I ran a search - a picture is available of both the ‘48 uniform and the ‘65, which apparently went to having a lot less white collar on it.
The ‘48 uniform was apparently by Dior(!).
Similarly, there’s only one man in frame with an umbrella, he’s carrying no bag, and is wearing khaki pants. Overall, his clothing might be a different cut too. I wonder if he’s a Brit?

Wow, a lot more analysis than I did. I said, “Look at the pretty plane!” But it really is fascinating how a simple snapshot like this can be such a time capsule and carry so much more information than one would think at first glance.
I like the 65 uniform better. It’s sharper, but that was also a product of the era.

The ‘65 uniform’s hat is certainly better - the padding in the ‘48 does it no favors. The side buttons and tighter skirt on the ‘65 are definitely more “daring” and work quite well, but the ‘48 would be safer for a wider range of shapes - which may be due to coming in before the hiring of crew for looks above all else became a thing.
I am curious (no pun intended ha ha Sweden ha), why the attendants in the picture appear to be wearing more white than either pic. I’m assuming some intermediate stage existed.

Also, on a further review of the picture, I detect not one single cloud. Probability that BrollyMan is a Brit has gone up.

Ahh, the golden age of air travel!
Everyone just walking across the ramp to the aircraft, no ropes, no nothing.
