Not Exactly - This was a Midwest council race weekend. Me and my racing co owner entered it in two classes and race groups. My partner ran in ITJ (Improved Touring Junk). He won ITJ (1st of 2) and got lap records.

I entered in ST2 which is Street Tuner 2 which is like Improved Touring plus more mods. As such I was running against a couple of BMW M3's and a tuned up Civic and I gave up 100 hp to most of that field.

Sooooo, I won in that I wasn’t lapped by the front part of the ST2 field. But I did have a race a heck of a race with the back part of the ITA field.

Its a ‘72 Opel GT built by Lemons master fabricator Daren Besic about 6 years ago. It has a hand fabricated Kamm Back using gutter aluminum stock over conduit.

The engine is a ford ranger 2.3 with a Mustang T5 transmissiona and an Alfa Spyder rear axle and brakes.

Here is what Daren has built since then including the “Alfina”tribute and the DTM Alfa 155 Tribute.
