I guess when you spend thousands on a Lamborghini that has “Fire!” written all over it, it’s the wife that has the “ask divorce” email address.

At this point, I’m wondering of the silliness of going with a made up name like Tavarish is motivation to change, or if it’s a blessing that brings more publicity.

I’ve only had three pints of beer but reading that image makes me feel drunk.

I read it four times and I felt, ‘bloody hell that Budvar is strong as I must be pissed already’.

Why did he choose (or get assigned) that nickname anyway? Does anyone know?

I love Tavarish but making statements like that is asking for it. Lol

I’m going to make a video saying I fireproofed a Ferrari. I will do it by taking the Ferrari badges off, no longer making it a Ferrari.

Good ol’ Google, rolling out new technologies before they’re ready for prime time. I was watching some of those videos of Irish people eating American food, and on the first few videos it was fine because I assume that the data was entered manually; how else would all of those Irish names be spelled correctly? It’s like watching something on PBS where the voice matches the text word for word, whereas the CC on an ‘80s sitcom is a half-assed approximation of what the character is saying where the lips don’t match the words.

When left to its own devices the automatic CC comes up with some really bad translations, and as someone that works in the disabled community, I can say that they are currently less than helpful. I’m not trying to discourage them from trying as I assume the technology will improve over time, but right now it really comes up with some head-scratching WTF moments. We should start a pool to guess when they’ll actually get Mr. Paresh’s, er Tavarish’s, name correct...

It’s awkward when it’s spot on, then starts getting it wrong in places and you end getting distracted from what your watching as your mind is going, ‘erm, what????’.

It’s Heisenberg’s uncertainty principal in real-life form, kinda sorta. You can listen to the words or read the text, but can’t do both lest your eyes bug out and your head explode...

I love the film Amelie, and know it so well that I don’t need the subtitles any more.

I used to watch eastern European films with my flat mate, me and her used to sit down and watch the film and if someone missed something we’d tell the other what they missed. I miss those days.

He said when he was starting out (he was an Opponaut before Jalopnik hired him) that he just picked a handle that sounded cool to him. Jalopnik instituted the policy that contributes have to use their real names for their pieces, but I guess he had already established himself as Tavarish for his site, or maybe he just likes using it?

That’s a bold strategy, yet a strategy that will most likely pay off. I’m in for updates.
