Yes, those are pop up headlights.
I’ll repost this tomorrow with the answer if nobody correctly identifies the car. I’m pretty sure there’s enough of a clue in there however.

Without Googling. I want to say 1936.
I loved this car as a kid. The styling and headlights.
Then I got older and found it had a ‘pre-selector’ for changing up and down.

I agree. I am guessing 1936.

Crazily sophisticated car for the time, looking at the specs, its pretty easy to see why it was originally planned as an entry-level Duesenberg.

That’s a Cord. They’re pretty famous.

I’m going with 1932.
(I’m 100% certain on the make, just not the year. Could be as early as 1929?)

Coffin nose Cord! I LOVED these cars as a kid. Had replicas if them in just about every size and body style imaginable. My grandma was always fond of them.

I’m guessing 1940 Cord. Other than that, no idea.

Hey, Stranger.

It’s a Cord. I’d have guessed 40s, which probably says something about how it was ahead of its time.

Coffin-nose Cord. 1929? Front-wheel drive. Cool cars.
Damn, 1936 was the first year. It was semi-automatic, too.
