"sm70- why not Duesenberg?" (sm70-whynotduesenberg)

Her ‘95 Ford Contour V6, which she bought new, was on its last legs. After a couple years of stubbornly resisting the idea of getting a new car, which my mom and I were both pushing for, she finally relented and asked me for recommendations. One of the cars I recommended was a Honda Fit. She found this one she liked, and she has leased it. It’s a fairly base level, but it still has back up camera and Bluetooth which just goes to show you that basically everything does these days. Also, it’s a surprisingly pleasant little car to drive with good handling and a great greenhouse. Also, it’s adorable.

I’d drive that as a commuter in a heartbeat. Maybe when my 98’ Civic DX gives up the ghost I will look at a Fit.

I was in a Fit today doing a test drive with my S/O. They are not bad for a basic car!

Clarkson’s mother has a Jazz/Fit, so seems a well liked car for the demographic

Solid, imagine how much more years she will exploit out of a Honda.
My grandmother still rocks her sub 20,000 mile 2005 Five Hundred.

It’s funny that a Based model Honda Fit has a backup camera and Bluetooth but my 2011 BMW has neither.

I recommend it. It’s not as fun to drive as an old Civic, mainly because of the van like seating position, however it can still be lots of fun. The newer gen is even better than our 2010 as well because direct injection gives it a bit more power and it’s about 100lbs lighter.

With the little Xb gone it has the advantage of being one of the few cars you don’t fall into, ot clime into. You just slide in and out of it.

I’ve seen quite s few of those with typical 2000s Ford/Mazda rust. Which is too bad because it’s actually a decent looking car.

Since it lives in sunny Mexico, rust is not an issue.

It’s the only demographic I see in these, to be honest. (In Europe)
