Guy at work owns this Jeep. It’s a M38A1. He decided to drive it to work on this brisk 38° F morning.
The reason for the cutout in the windshield is thank is where the M40 recoilless rifle barrel sat for transport,

Pretty sure that’s a recoilless rifle

Cool. Love the windshield cut out.
What’s up with the light on the driver’s side fender? And what’s up with the halo ring in front of it? Spot light?

Sweet! !! And it sounds like a great way to wake up too.
Now about that E34 next to it...

Hard to see from the pics provided, but most likely a blackout light. A minimal-range headlight with a slit and overhead shield so while a little light is visible during an air-raid, w/e, it’s not immediately possible to pin down the origin for fire. Either that, or some type of convoy light. Halo ring just to protect it from brush.

I think I am now going to need to read the wiki article on recoilless rifles today.

The man needs a length of pvc pipe painted green to go in place of the recoilless rifle.

Plus it would double as an arm rest.
