Hey Oppo, I’m having a tough time getting an answer from the Googles and thought I’d tap into your collective knowledge. Anyone know what the first model year was for the Ferrari 550 Maranello? I know production started in July of 1996, but I don’t know whether the first examples were considered 96MY or 97MY.

July would be pretty late start so I would expect them to be ‘97 models. A VIN# for an early model could confirm this.

The definitive answer would come from a VIN, but I believe they are considered a 96MY.

They did some weird things with the 550 where the first model year was very low production and never officially available to anyone outside Ferrari. I believe the Harry’s Garage video on the 550 talks about early production.

depends on which market probably, ones in the USA were probably ‘97

There’s an early one for sale in UK (at Forza288) but they aren’t revealing VIN in the ad.
