How many miles on this car?
There are no guarantees in life, but I’be been by the upholstery guy, been by the glass shop, And what we’ve got here, is untouched factory upholstery, and uncracked factory windshield. the steering wheel is not cracked. I think the carpet may be original too.
all the mud on this car appears to be glazing putty, pic shows evidence of previous oxy-acetaline work. the hood is not original to the car, but the rest of the body is. The hood has been on this car a long, long time. the convertible top appears to be a replacement, of 70's or 80's vintage. It’s showing over 40,000 miles. I thought the interior had been done but the interior guy said it was original. I was going under the assumption that it had rolled over once. My 66 Chevelle is at just under 50,000 miles and I got it at an original 33,000, but it was on the road it’s whole life, or most of it. At 50,000 mile it need a few things, but it’s never been a project car, just a car that’s old. The corvair, near as I can tell was in the barn from 1993 until this spring. So upon closer inspection, HOW MANY MILES ARE ON THIS CAR?

I’m gonna guess 340,000 miles based solely on the car being forcibly introduced to a deer at some point in it’s life.
But seriously, given the interior, couldn’t 40,000ish seem plausible if the body was treated poorly?

Hi, I’m an engineering student enrolled at Oconomowoc High School. I’m currently working in the PLTW capstone course, EDD (Engineering Design & Development).
At this point in our project we need to find people who are either experts or experienced in our project’s relative fields. Our project is centered on designing a fully functional universal cup holder that has the highest potential for eliminating spills within automobiles. Even if you aren’t employed or currently working with cars, your input is valuable and will help us with our justification.
If you don’t mind my asking, what are your thoughts and do you agree with some of these statements?
Some cup holders are too shallow for proper functioning.
Some cup holders have poor placement. (Too close to electronics or get in the way.)
Some cup holders are made of poor materials and have fragile designs.
Some cup holders can’t hold enough varying container sizes.
Some cup holders hardly work at all.
Any input regarding automobile cup holders and their flaws or strengths is greatly helpful. My partner and I would also appreciate knowing what your profession is or how you’ve come to be interested in automobiles.
Thanks for your time.

when it comes to OLD cars, there are 2 cupholders, lefty and righty.
boat cup holders have it already figured out....... they pivot, AND swivel, so that your drink has a MUCH harder time trying to find a way to spill itself......

When I got mine in ‘02, it was an original 40K mile car. Sometimes they sit. Interior looked a lot like that.

The speedometer is driven from the driver front wheel. There’s a little fitting inside the grease cap. Those break/get broken and can go a while without being replaced. If that isn’t original, mileage is a mystery.

This is good design inspiration, thank you. If you don’t mind answering, what do you do as a profession and do you have an email address we could use for report purposes? I completely understand if you don’t want to share. Thanks!
