My Brother-In-Law wasn’t feeling right yesterday, tight in his chest and a bit of pain. He walked into the clinic in the afternoon and ended up getting raced to the Hospital in the next town. This morning they confirmed a complete blockage in his heart and had a stent put in this morning. He’s recovering well and resting.

He’s 42, a fit guy, eats well, doesn’t smoke or drink..

Favourite cars are his MK4 Baltic Jetta or his FC-GXL

Hug your family everyone.

Thanks for the reminder. 6 years ago, I had a routine ultrasound that found what turned out to be kidney cancer. What could have killed me turned out to be completely healed with a single surgery because it was caught early.

I think I will go hug my family extra hard tonight.

Also, prayers to your BIL. Anyone who has an FC is okay in my book.

Scary stuff. Best wishes for your BIL. My grandma just had a stint put in a few months ago under similar circumstances.

Preventive medicine FTW. My FIL died of colon and liver cancer. He had some polyps removed but never went back for a follow up. He never met his grandsons.

I just read this to my wife. Her aunt and grandmother died of colon cancer. I reminded her that she needs to make an appointment for her next colonoscopy. I’m not ready to lose her.

I had my first last year. Now I’m good for 10 years. I’ve been bugging the hell out of my wife to get hers soon. It’s ridiculously easy. You fall asleep, you wake up, it’s done. No excuse not to have one.

It’s the prep that sucks. Still, my wife will have stuff that needs to be removed or she will eventually die from it. Family genetics pretty much guarantees it. No choice but to just do it.

I didn’t even think the prep was all that bad. A little unpleasant, but I got a lot of crosswords done. For me, the worst part was being so hungry the next morning. Treat her to a big breakfast somewhere when it’s done.

That goes without saying!

At 42? Wow! That’s way too early. I’m guessing he has a family history of heart disease? Hope he recovers quickly.

4 years ago I had a fall that left me with shooting pains across the left side of my chest. Just to be sure, I saw a doctor and they took a chest xray. “You’re fine, but did you know you have a lump in your right lung?”

After a lot of tests and a failed procedure for a non-existing condition, it was finally ruled to be a calcification due to a common, harmless fungal infection. It doesn’t grow or change shape, so we should be ok. That was a stressful way to pass my mid-30s...

I’m glad your cancer was quickly removed and that you’re ok. It’s so easy to forget to take care of one’s self.

I’m glad yours was a sort of false alarm. Better to go through all those tests and find that out than find a life threatening tumor.

Timely message. I’ve been reminded to get my physical by several people in the last two weeks. A friend of mine found an innocent looking mole on his back last June, when it was checked it was found to be melanoma. They blame the HMO and inattentive medical care for delaying what may have been life-saving care. His funeral is on Saturday. Get a physical.
