I can’t wait to see people with their SUVs purchased under the fog of cheap gas have to cut back on other expenses in order to keep them behemoth running.

Yeah....
Seriously though... All but the Alfa drink premium. Alfa get the best mileage at about 28MPG. Discovery gets 15MPG on a good run. I’ve stopped calculating it because I don’t want to know.

You should hypermile it for a tank or two. See what you can squeeze out of it.

I have tried! Last attempt I got a mere 20.
I think the only way to hypermile this would be to be on a 55mph road four hours on end. At freeway speeds, I’m turining over 3100rpm. chug chug chug!

5 speed I’m guessing? Didn’t realize my Z would get better gas mileage! Time for low drag hubcap covers.

Iron Duke swap for better fuel economy. Alternative solution: only ever drive downhill.

That’s what I did the one time my truck actually achieved it’s 21 mpg EPA highway rating. I was steady state cruising at 58 mph basically all day.

This is why I didn’t get a Spertcrass and instead I got my Prius. My priorities were all wrong back then.

In order to save gas, just buy a second Vibe and keep the IS for fancy time driving.

Don’t buy a new house, and you can easily afford it. Problem solved.

Well, I get 17-19 in my mini minivan, but at least I can use regular. Blame the 2.3 mile commute for why I’m not mid-20s like I used to be when I had to drive a few hundred miles per week...

Things that make me happy with my TSX: I’ve gotten the best fuel economy I’ve ever gotten the past 3 tanks (28.9, 28.3, and 27.8 respectively).
Things that don’t make me happy: it takes premium and the price jumped $0.40/gal right as I ran out of money and prices haven’t changed at all in the past 9 days.
At least I can put regular in my TSX, even if it will lower mileage and power.

I was in my hood the other day and I saw this. I know it was the wagon by the roofline. I am not sure what the vintage or restomod is.

My car gets RIDICULOUS fuel economy on a run like that.
This was during a return trip from Ocean Shores. Over 400 miles per 12 gallon tank if you are doing nothing but highway driving. This was in spite of traffic in Tacoma... If I was just cruising around rural highways on the great plains, I would likely get a solid 39-40 on every tank.
The car is rated 22 city/30 highway and most owners never get above the teens due to traffic and hard driving.

That, I can’t claim. I think mine is floating around 26mpg due to the fact I often do like a .5 mile round trip to grab pizza in mine and the rest of the time I feel like I’m in traffic...
The LS would get around 24-25mpg with a lot of highway driving, I suspect it could have done 27mpg on an Ocean Shores run. That would be distinctly better than the best in your IS, which is mind boggling to me.

That is surprisingly low. I get 23 ish with my E46, even with AWD - in the summer - with very little highway driving.
Winter is another story. Roof box + snow tires + constantly doing donuts = hovering around 20mpg.
My father in law has a 17.7 long-term average in his 2005 Yukon XL Denali - 6.2 V8 + AWD.

Really, I wish three things were true.
#1: That this were sold in the US:
#2: That that existed in a SportCross version, which was also sold in the US (instead of the NX 300h being what Lexus directs you to if you want a large rear opening and a 2.5 liter hybrid).
#3: That Toyota Motor Europe would stop with the fucking stupid “self-charging hybrid” marketing.
