My deep sympathies. I’m glad you have the right skillset to do something about it - but you won’t be getting back to that neat faded blue look...

Have pics to remember it by

Not as good as the car. But he wasn’t as smart as his two friends.

That really sucks, it was in very serviceable shape before the deer strike. I guess body work is now added to the list.

Oh mannn....I am so sorry to hear this happened! :(
Should be repairable, eh? Hopefully not too costly....? That fender looks removable. Is the front clip removable as well? At least the bumper doesn’t look damaged at all!
Car still driving OK?
![]() 04/23/2018 at 18:13 |

Did you at least eat the deer?
![]() 04/23/2018 at 18:13 |

Not to in any way tell you your job, but it’s just this sort of difficulty the old classic “Key to Metal Bumping” was made for. “Unlocking” the damage and what not.

If hit in MT yes. But probably not in Canadia.

Fucking deer. If they’re not eating your landscaping they’re wrecking your cars. Fucking assholes.

Oi vey, that blows!
![]() 04/23/2018 at 18:42 |

Ouch, that’s painful to look at. I know it can be fixed, but... damn.

That deer can go suck it
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:11 |

Are you going to straighten it out?
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:16 |

First yanking, then spanking.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:17 |

not easily, but it’ll buff out.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:22 |

Were you planning to do any body restoration work to it originally?
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:23 |
|
Man that sucks. Hope you can get it fixed on the cheap.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:24 |

I liked it just the way it was. was planning to replace all the seals and gaskets, learn how it works, and drive around in my convertibe. Plans have now changed. still gonna rip around with the top laid down though.

But I have the current oppo “road trip championship” which I just made up, and also it comes with double prize money.

There’s no deer in your frunk!
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:34 |
|
Not a fender, front clip is all one piece, integral to the unitbody, none of it comes off.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:35 |
|
I was living out of that frunk. It was full.
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:39 |
|
Do you do body work yourself?
![]() 04/23/2018 at 19:44 |
|
Damn....hopefully the repair costs won’t be too harsh! :(
![]() 04/23/2018 at 20:01 |

I try not to, but was a bodyman for years, went to bodyman school, never intending to be a bodyman, but to facilitate my old-car jones, and because they rust where I live. Quality body work and rust repair doesn’t come at buddy prices. Big money or learn how to do it, no one will do it for you. ever. Now if you want dirty work, my dirty work is fabulous, and it lasts as long as my good work, the only difference being ethical/philosophical
![]() 04/23/2018 at 20:08 |

they will be
![]() 04/23/2018 at 20:24 |

Buy a junk corvair? front clip doesnt have as much rust issues on most cars.

my people are on it
![]() 04/23/2018 at 22:38 |

Goddammit. Been working all day on a business trip (Montreal FTW) and this just sucks.
Hope you’re ok first of all and that the car is drivable / repairable. Sorry.

It’s insured, but this is a 200% write-off-go-home-kid wreck. regardless of it’s potential value. It’ll get fixed though. Won’t stop me from enjoying it this summer.

All good in the hood.

Ugh that sucks. One of my worst fears right there.

I just awoke from a dream that certainly had your corvair as an input factor, but was also a throwback to my first car. And a few other influencers...
I hope you will keep us informed on how you decide to proceed. The damn thing was ideal before Bambi came along. How much did you give for it?
Have you seen my project? www.tinyurl.com/vandurapics I need to update some photos as the cobwebs are now gone inside. I’ve been very successful at buying parts but at installing them, not so much.

A friend of a friend is a a vanner. has a 67 chevy panel. I come across parts.
