Got the hood/fender done on Saturday. My 2 cousins and my 2 oldest daughters did all the paint work:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Then I laid the clear on once everything was dried:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Then we got to work installing the engine:

Kinja'd!!!

That was Saturday’s work. Then yesterday I had to go do a fuel pump in my grandpa’s truck, so I didn’t get started until around 1. Got the new trans cleaned up, changed out all the seals, replaced the filter, checked the diff, etc. Then I decided it was getting too late to venture into putting it in, so I installed the new hood, fender, and grille instead:

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

Hopefully over the course of the week, I can get the trans in and get it back together. I have to order some parts, so I’ll be on a little bit of a waiting game, but progress continues!

Cool paint job. I’m looking forward to the burnout videos when this is complete!

Please make sure those LED spots behind the grille are properly aligned and don’t wiggle about if you’re going to use them on the road. Nothing says “I’m a docuhenozzle in a douchecanoe” more loudly than poorly aligned lamps that are blinding in broad daylight!

I really wanted a paint job like that on my 1981 Aries wagon I had, briefly, in college. Unfortunately, it never came to be.

That’s awesome, keep up the good work.

I don’t plan to beat it, although it’ll probably happen ;)

I will aim the LEDs once they’re hooked up and they wont wobble as they’re solid mounted to the header. I only plan to use them on backroadsand as a supplement for highbeams, so no one will ever see them, unless of course they fail to dim their lights.

Now your username makes total sense.

They did all that with rattle cans?

I really like how the fender looks with the clean trim next to the paint. When are you going to do the rest of it? ;)

Need to do this on the Voyager now just so you can rebadge it as Voyager II :P

Awesome work, I wish I could my whole family on board a project like this!

After I get it back on the road. Gotta finish getting everything installed and working. Then I gotta do some work on the truck. Then I’ll get into painting the rest of the car.

All the work was done with rattle cans. Then I gave it a quick scuff and cleared it. I still have to wet sand and buff it, but I feel it looks pretty damn good as is.
