Do you really need a Z06? and I can’t imagine how much more crazy the Zr1 will be. At $93K though I think you could skip a lot of options.
Used manual coupes start in the mid 50s. These are the lowest priced ones in the country

Considering the Z06 has pretty crippling overheating issues, I’m not sure why any track rat would choose a forced induction Corvette over the GS.
I’ve yet to see a single Z06 make it through a track day without entering limp mode, even after GM’s “fix,” so I can’t imagine the ZR1 will farewell any better with an extra 100hp on tap.
In other news, the Grand Sports are becoming REALLY popular, especially among Porsche owners. My Porsche club now has 5, two of which replaced Cayman GT4’s. That’s some crazy high praise for GM.

Nothing beats GMs Performance per Dollar used. Nothing. 3 year old standard Stingrays are coming down as well. Just a lil’ bit more on that depreciation...anytime now.

Can confirm. I couldn’t afford a C7, but did get a very nice C6 for the price of a BRZ. I also considered a Cayman, but couldn’t find many in budget, except for a few base models from the IMS bearing era.

Was just at a track day where a fast driver in a ZL1 1LE was kicking ass all day. I assume they’ve made the changes necessary (all the radiators!) in the ZR1.

I would argue that you wouldn’t go wrong with a Z51. You could get a used Z51 for under 40, track pads and fluid, and wider R-comp tires. People have fit 285 in the front and 325 in the back on the narrower base/Z51.
The GS is probably your best bet if you’re staying stock, but you might as well get a Z51 if you are going to start to mod. Unlike the C6, there isn’t enough to justify going up a level from what I can tell.
