I saw these earlier today. Can you imagine visiting someone’s house and finding these in the bathroom? Like... what’s wrong with normal wet wipes? How do you function in society if you can’t stand to use anything that’s not explicitly for men?

I feel the same way about body wash, why are there body washes targeted to men with made up smells. Fuck you marketers I’ll smell like coconut and orchids if I want to.

Oh that’s just as bad if not worse. Something colored pink and labeled “for women” also tends to mean 20% higher retail price.

I travel alot. I have a bag of these or One Wipe Charlies as after eating on the economy for the 8th day or sitting in the Middle East...these things are a godsend.
However, they also make portable packets which are perfect for travel. I carry a bunch at conventions or in Africa. They are ideal for those moments you aren’t sure if you have toilet paper.

I actually switched to Dove Men from regular Dove, I found it worked better (they have one with a bit of menthol-esque cooling), the scent was not as pungent, at least for me.
It’s not like it cost more anyways...

Women are the worse offenders here. It’s just surprising that some companies are finally starting to cater to men. I wonder if their market research showed men don’t buy stuff because most marketing is targeted toward women or if it’s just some marketing ploy.

I used to use dove men, but I didn’t like the scents really. And the “moisturizing” always left me really dry. So I switched to St.Ives Oatmeal and Shea butter, and then one day they didn’t have it so I tried St.Ives Coconut and Orchid and I was like fuck ya. I still have to moisturize with almond oil after I get out of the shower a few times a week. Weirdly if I use pure coconut oil I end up feeling kind of itchy later in the day.

I never trust people selling stuff aimed at a certain gender. I use Dove Sensitive Skin Unscented bar soap for every part of my body after my mom switched our family from Caress due to the perfume.
In my college biology lab I compared the results of using shampoo on my hair and bar soap, ultimately coming to the conclusion that bar soap was not only better for your hair, but also cheaper and more environmentally-friendly.
I don’t understand body wash. You’re adding a wasteful plastic container and transporting a lot of heavy water around. I can’t think of many products like it that are quite as wasteful without any justifiable reason.

Body wash is cleaner to travel with, it’s just a plastic bottle and not a grimy bar of soap that you have to let dry or stuff in a plastic bag or something. As for the actual use, it’s just personal preference. I’ll use both, I’m not picky, but they’re different enough that I can see how someone could prefer one over the other.

I use wipes on my little guy but they go in the garbage with the diapers. Any garbage with a diaper gets taken to the curb often enough that it’s not an issue.

Amazon tried to sell me those a while ago, and I realized I should probably get some wipes, so I checked Costco. This shows $22 for the box, but I think the member price is around $16. https://www.costco.com/Kirkland-Signature-Moist-Flushable-Wipes%2C-632-Wipes.product.100350650.html

Most hygiene products have traditionally been bought by women. But marketers have caught on to the fact more men are buying these products (because people are waiting longer to get married, diminishing of traditional gender roles, and because men aren’t as worried about appearing unmanly by buying these products). They have identified the opportunity to sell to men as well as women, not just potentially stealing customers from their competitors, but also opening up a new market for more premium products.

You’re not wrong. All I’m saying is that it’s ridiculous either way. In some ways, the existence of men-only products is a pretty good way to show how useless women-only products are.
