Down in Asheville/Brevard area of NC until next week. Needed a bike hauler and this is what Alamo gave me!

Seating position is reminiscent to the plane I just got off of, but this is from a guy who never drives full size trucks. Maybe I’ll give it a review when the trip is over. I’m more excited about the bikes I rented.

Time to test it on the Blue Ridge Parkway! The Devil’s Whip (hwy 80) is not too far from there, that is a fun road to rip. I always wonder if a truck would just be scary to canyon carve with.

I’m on it! It’s crazy how light they make the front end feel in these. Seems dainty... But isn’t.

I’ll be there in May for Anniversary but would have to meet at brewery of course. Wife wouldn’t put up with anything else.

Bike...as in....?

If it’s a mountain bike, I would simply assume you are there to haul ass through Tsali.

If it’s any other kind of bike, I would advise you to rent a MTB and go haul ass through Tsali.

I mean, I split a helmet, got a concussion (funcussion?), and tore up my face and arm last time I was there. But still!

Which motor does it have. Anything but the non-turbo V6 and I think you will have fun with the acceleration at least.

That’s just gotta be overboosted power steering isn’t it? I believe all steering should be manual, I need stronger arms anyways.

Yep, has to be. Vague, but extremely light. Can’t imagine what manual steering would feel like in this.

Definitely worth checking out. I haven’t been there in about 8 years, but the trails were very well taken care of and it was damn near empty when I went (random weekday during spring).

Honestly, the only reason I got hurt was because I was riding beyond my means. I was trying to keep up with my buddy who is a far better cyclist than me, kicked the front wheel out at the bottom of a downhill section, went over the handlebars and headfirst into a stone-filled gulch.

Not me (you can tell by the way he’s still upright), but a decent look at a portion of the trail.

I rode Dupont Forest today and it was fucking awesome. Although I wish I had my Z06 and not this truck on all of these fine roads.

Yeah, there are some beautiful roads up in that region. Deal’s Gap, obviously, being one of them.
