President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz Canada, Brian D. Fulton, confirmed the news.“Our U.S. colleagues have already confirmed that they will only sell the sedan version of the A-Class,” said Fulton on Friday. “Both hatchback and sedan versions will be available in Canada; we will share more information about the sedan later this year.”

Not a fan of the long screen. Wish they had proper analog gauges+Display because it looks so flat , a separate screen for infotainment is fine. That Augmented Reality Navigation is very cool tho !

US should probably get the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder , delivering 221 hp (165 kW) and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque.

Tablets on the dash need to go now. It’s aged dad’s idea of looking hip and with it.

It’s weird and remarkable that MB has handled the Canuck and Murka markets different for at least a decade - different cars, different option bundles - Canadian offerings resemble some in the UK (sans diesel, of course).

I’ll be interested to see these once they hit the streets. The B class is already pretty darn tiny. The A class must be in the Smart car ballpark or something, I’m imagining, though those pics make it appear fairly substantial.

But the B class is the size of a Fiesta, give or take, at a glance. Maybe it’s just been a while since I’ve paid attention and everyone went and resized everything while I wasn’t looking. Lol

B Class is just a taller version, not necessarily a larger car. Like a crossover version (see: GLA), but more in a mini-minivan kind of way. The previous A/CLA/GLA was Focus sized as well.

I owned a B210 Turbo for three years, wonderful car in every way. I never understood why they never brought it to the U.S. Actually a few guesses:

- American’s don’t care for hatches, favouring SUV’s & trucks

- the Canadian MSRP was $30K, that would have translated into a U.S. MSRP of sub $25k taking into account exchange rates and the fact U.S. cars are less expensive.

I saw an older Mercedes B-Class with Ontario plates in central Georgia. It was an 8 character specialty plate and the last four digits were “FRNT”. It had to do with water. I was shocked to see that down here.

Man the CLA variant is going to be just a terrible in the rear. The current one has no head room for an average size person and you feel like you have to roll yourself out back seat with it being right over the wheel arch

Of course, if the GLA is like the current GLA, it’ll basically be this but with some black plastic and less sleek bodywork, not really a real crossover.

Damn that’s a good looking car. Wish we would get the hatch obviously but the sedan still looks pretty good too.
