Including chicken nugget parm. I hadn’t had it for years up until a couple weeks ago. Now it’s become a staple of my diet again.

Back in college there was one night when I was particularly trashed and decided I wanted to eat chicken parm. I didn’t really want to make it so I just thru the chicken cheese sauce breadcrumbs and a egg into a pan, stirred it up and tossed it in the oven. I did not end up eating that chicken parm

done that more than a few times, though I generally prefer it in hoagie form with some sautéed tomatoes and peppers

I was going to say something, but back when my digestive tract was more robust I’d put the cheese powder from instant mac ‘n cheese into ramen, or mix ramen into tomato sauce based frozen dinners, or ... *blargfhh*

That’s a damn fine college dish.

They’re Tyson’s breaded nuggets from the freezer section. Red bag with a green ribbon. Then Prego traditional sauce and store-brand Italian or Pizza blend cheese.

Sharing my “Recipe”. There was this unholy Mutant Nachos Chilli Dip Thing I made some weekends in college:
* Get a couple of cans of Hormel or Campbell Beef Chili
* 2 to 3 cans of anything from this page , I like the Bold and Spicy https://www.bushbeans.com/en_US/products/baked-beans
* 3 cans of Green Giant Southwest Style Corn- Whole Kernel Corn, Onions, Black Beans and Red Bell Peppers https://www.greengiant.com/products/detail/green-giant-steamcrisp-southwestern-style-corn-11-oz-can/
* Black Olives, Mushrooms, Onions, Bell Peppers, Green Olives
* Cholula or Tabasco or any Mexican Hot sauce, Taco Seasoning Powder
* Mexican 3 cheese mix
* Yellow Corn Tortila Chips Cheap store brand
* Saute Mushrooms, Onions, Bell Peppers with pepper and Taco seasoning
* Add in the Southwest Style Corn next
Add in all the cans and cook them for few minutes, add in Cholula
After It’s cooled a little bit, Take a large square dish. layer Chips, Bean Mix, Cheese, Olives. 3 layers in all. Add another layer of Cheese and shredded Cilantro to top it off. (I like Soggy Tortilla Chips, sue me)
Refrigerate, when needed take out a portion, heat up in microwave, Add Fresh Salsa, Sour Creamand Lettuce and eat with fresh Chips. Or you can just eat it like regular baked beans. Also, switched to low-sodium versions of everything after a while when I realized how much salt was in this shit.
I also discovered Tamago Kake Gohan during college. Best. Thing. Ever . Made some modifications to prevent eating the eggs too raw but it very good breakfast because I had a small rice cooker and eggs are cheap. https://www.seriouseats.com/2016/04/tamago-kake-gohan-japanese-egg-rice-tkg.html

Creative! 7/10, would consider eating in the middle of a particularly nasty all-nighter study session.

It’s great when you’ve been beating your head against the wall all day just for your team to sell one car.

I also feel like I never really had the true college experience. I lived at home, I was young, and I commuted, so I didn’t get the experience of trying to feed myself with random stuff like this.
My food was always real stuff that I cooked at home... Hell, the most stereotypically “college” food I ate was from the food courts, where the students that worked in them developed their own creative concoctions out of food service ingredients. They were kind of like Taco Bell on steroids.

I never lived in the dorms, so I had some real food too from time to time. But my college life was spent making things that were simple that I could clean up after quickly and go back to my basement in the townhouse I split. I also made a lot of grilled chicken with various levels of garlic and tomatoes and other various accoutrements. And the endless taco bowls. I would make taco bowls like 2x a week at least. But I ate on campus a lot too.
We had a place called south side that was a big all you could eat with different stations such as pasta and personalized wraps and sandwiches. And the late night spot was pilot house which was always good for buffalo chicken pizza or chicken parm subs.

I’m on board with everything here except the soggy chips.

Recipe is yours now. You can skip the chips, use Tortilla strips on top instead. And you can skip the chips and use this like a bean dip anyway/

I’m thinking of all the wet goodness with cheese on top used to make a big batch of nachos on a cookie tray in the oven... =)

Woohoo!
Sadly I never got to experience pilot house as they closed it down.

Not sure! It was still super popular, then they changed it and it’s some type of professors lounge or something? They opened a chipotle and a bunch of other food places in the JC, though.
