Toyota S800,2000GT and 86, shame there’s no AE86

I’ve seen this exact 2000GT a few times, it belongs to the Dutch Toyota/Lexus importer. It’s such a stunning car, but way smaller than you would expect.

The only one I’ve seen in person was at the Louwman museum in The Hague. It was smaller than I expected but it’s not tiny - fairly close to an NA Miata in size.

That’s the same place I’ve seen it! Though I’ve heard it has been moved to the Louwman & Parqui Toyota collection, which is controlled by the importer, and isn’ t public. I guess Louwman aquired so many collectible cars, he had to split the collections!

It was in the big front foyer area which I understood to be a rotating exhibition when I was there in 2016. I can’t wait to visit the Netherlands again. I’ve been twice now and I really love it. Hopefully next time I’ll have a smaller rental than an X5 tho XD

AE86 isn’t a sports car. Pictured are sports cars.

it’d be neat if Toyota could translate some of the s800 and 2000gt nose styling to the next gen 86

When I was there it was in the foyer too. Indeed, the foyer is a semi-rotating exhibition (though some cars seem to be there for a longer time than others ). During the summers they always do a special theme in the foyer, like a bunch of Martini livery cars, or McLaren cars (Louwman also owns a McLaren dealership). This year’ s theme will be Mercedes Benz Si lver Arrows.
Nice to hear you love it here! It’s a nice country, it’s sometimes just hard to appreciate when living here, haha.
