Faulty Prius battery cells

After five days of down time, the Prius is back on the road. Reinstalled the rebuilt battery, also a new 12V battery, fired her up to test, and no more warning lights. Driving the car around town, and it’s just nonchalantly humming along as if nothing happened, as if 25% of the drivetrain weren’t just swapped out.

Next I’m going to be transporting the old cells to the post office to send back to the battery shop. It’s kind of eerie, the car hauling around its own damaged internal organs.

Anyway! Fuel economy is also noticeably improved, and the car seems smoother than before. Not sure how much is the battery (probably most), and how much the spark plug + PCV job I did while I was waiting for the battery cells to arrive.

Supposedly the whole unit is about 120 lbs / 55 kg. The cells shipped in two boxes, and some cleaned-up hardware in a small third box.
