!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
It’s a nice specimen, but not a unicorn. I thought the 390 was the engine for a Camper Special.

At first glance I thought, “sure, that’s not terrible for an excellent condition truck of that era...” but then I looked at the pics and description.
First of all, both exhaust manifolds are cracked.
Replacements included -
How about you install those?! Also: unknown age bias-ply tires. So... there’s $1,000.
Like you said, it’s a nice example, but those details add up to CP for me. It’s not rare enough to warrant that price with those flaws. Also, if it were in New England it would be automatically worth more because it’s so clean. But it’s not.

I’m not quite at CP on it, but it’s certainly top dollar and more than I’d pay. I could see $5-6k.

It’s nice but I’m sure smalltown Sask could cough one up at a better price. Where I live, old trucks are just called trucks.

As I’ve been trying to teach the boys, something is worth exactly as much money as somebody is willing to pay for it. You may think you truck is worth $9,000, but if there’s no buyers, it’s not worth it.

Or the corollary: You paid nine grand for that?? .
“Yup. And I’m very happy with it.”

Can’t say I’ve seen a CS w/o the 390 but it looks like you could get one with a smaller motor. Kind of a lower end CS, smaller motor, not a lot of other options. Nice original-ish condition but that price is probably too high for something that needs a few grand in work.

And a vin on a napkin is a bill of sale.
