I’m not in the market for a car anytime soon, but I looked at the G70 at the NY auto show and was impressed. I didn’t love how the front end looked, but I like the overall shape and styling of the car. The interior was really fantastic, with good build quality and a nice design. I’ve already recommended it to a couple people who had never even heard of it and still thought Genesis was a Hyundai.

Recently bought the S3, so I’m not going to be in the market for awhile. When it’s time to replace the Audi, I’ll definitely check it out though.

I’m holding my breath. By the time I’m back in market, the mk8 gti should be out, which will be a great replacement for my MK6. The current GTI is already a fantastic car. The G70? Well, I do really want a RWD sport sedan, but idk how much more I’m willing to pay. The G70 is bigger, more cramped, will be more expensive, and has abysmal fuel economy numbers (18/28 for the manual 2.0t). I wouldn’t mind too much but 6 mpg is a HUGE difference. I’m also waiting on the G20 3 series and the ATS to see if they have sensibly priced options too. I’m still pissed that there isn’t a non-luxury manual compact sport sedan.

If you don’t like the front you could look at a Stinger, same car underneath.

I wish! Depending on where the pricing ends up I would maybe spring for the manual 2.0t, it would have to be a pretty good lease deal or something though. Most likely I’ll get an elantra sport or forte sx and look for a used g70 in 5 years or so, but hot damn if I had the money I would definitely be very interested, it’s a beautiful design IMO.
