I highly recommend none of you watch this. I mean I went into it assuming it would be terrible, but it’s even worse than I thought.

Its great, why not throw a stock Supercars against some built drag cars?

I mean the concept of supercars against built cars, all shot in 4K sounds good to me, but the presentation makes me naseous

I typically give things one episode or so. It was really bad. I’m shocked that they were able to take people that I liked like Lunchmoney, Rob and Bisi completely insufferable. Add to that the weird street racer college sucks and I’m not opening my hood and it’s a loss.

Its awful. And the supercar drivers are unbearable.

Yeah I’m thinking they get a lot of coaching on how to make their delivery more “reality tv”. Impressively bad.

The truly hilarious one on Netflix I thought would be much worse was Paul Hollywood cruising around in supercars.

It feels like another car show for non car people. And while that isn’t inherently bad or evil, the way most producers go about it is all wrong. Watch those guys on the Hoonigan channel and you can see the passion and that they’re having fun. But this they felt dead.

The promo made it look like a reality tv version of Two Lane Blacktop. I was not intrigued.

I watched all the episodes. It was not great. The worst was the guy with the Ram saying “built not bought” while surrounded by a bunch of people he had paid to build his truck.

But it didn’t make me angry. I thought some of it was cool.

Is it better than American Chopper?

Asking all the important questions here.

That crash though.

I’m so glad reruns and torrents and the internet exist. I don’t have to watch any car crap on TV. But I’m happy that I can still watch Motorweek on TV.

I watched the first couple and then skimmed the rest, most of the owners were annoying and I felt like they should have been more anti-street racing, and it also bugged me that the rules changed a couple times and that the final race was on salt for some reason. The hippie dumbass wrecking the rx2 really pissed me off also. But overall most of the cars were pretty cool, just too played up for tv, I felt like everybody was trying too hard to stand out and be a personality, and of course the producers really tried to wring some drama out too.

It’s certainly not great, but not terrible. A few of the personalities are very punchable, but others are interesting, like the guy who used parts from his buddy/brother-in-law’s crashed car to build his Thunderbird. Then he went out and demolished everybody in his episode. I have two left so I’ll finish it up today most likely.

The douchiest character (by far) is Bryan Salamone. But we already knew that.

If you decide to watch, I highly recommend fast-forwarding to “Race Day” for each episode. Gives enough time to get to know characters as they check out each other’s cars, and much more racing instead of TLC true life. Watched the whole season in about 45min.

American Chopper wasn’t always bad. When they were focused on building bikes it was super interesting. I think the show broke those two guys in the meme though.
