Can’t wait to show the wife this... though I think the openeings are just as unsafe as what we will soon have:

If you had a hill long enough who would win?
mobile home?
deck?
bbq?
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:42 |
|
But it would be neat to say “have deck, will travel”.
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:43 |

The hill.
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:44 |
|
To be fair, that’s a lot more sturdy than most peoples’ decks.
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:44 |
|
Absolutely!

Man, code is 4 inches between balusters, not 4 feet
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:49 |
|
Now that I’m looking at it though it might not need a railing per code, I think it’s anything over 30" from the ground that needs a railing
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:51 |
|
So they can have a house party, tailgate, and picnic/bbq all at the same time!

Life is good!
![]() 04/09/2018 at 15:57 |

Honestly, I’m not even mad about this, that is an ingenious use of materials on hand.
![]() 04/09/2018 at 16:00 |
|
I will use that in my sales pitch.
![]() 04/09/2018 at 16:01 |

I think they have wide kids?
![]() 04/09/2018 at 16:01 |
|
I know this is supposed to be a joke, but I’m looking at it and thinking, hmmm.

Great parking solution for storing the trailer, too! I wonder if it has stake pockets for easily-removable railing.

Unsolicited deck pic.

That house is living in 3018
![]() 04/09/2018 at 16:20 |

It’s actually quite ingenious.

*giggle*
![]() 04/09/2018 at 18:15 |

If you cut off the gooseneck, put up railings, and screened in around the bottom with lattice, it would look totally fine. Pretty ingenious really, used trailers are surprisingly cheap - might be cheaper, and certainly way faster, than stick building a deck.
![]() 04/09/2018 at 18:19 |
|
And sturdy too.
![]() 04/10/2018 at 06:50 |
|
as long as it does the trick, reasonably sturdy, good thinking!
![]() 04/10/2018 at 11:26 |
|
It really is.

Conversation overheard between the park manager and the tenant.
Manager: “Sir, we have a strict rule about commercial vehicles, boats, and trailers being parked in the park. I’m going to have to ask you to move that trailer”
Tenant: “That’s a Deck”
MAnager: “But sir, that’s a trailer.
Tenant: “No it’s not. It’s a deck. See the table?”
Manager: “Yes, but it’s a trailer sir, it has wheels on it”
Tenant: “Is there a rule about your deck can’t have wheels?”
Manager: “......”

Love it!
![]() 04/23/2018 at 09:23 |

There was a whole second half I didn’t feel like typing out where the tenant asks if he can park an RV in his driveway, and the manager says no because it has wheels, then the tenant points to the wheels on his home, etc, etc...

Too funny!
![]() 09/18/2018 at 13:02 |
|
actually if you are less than 2' above grade you are not required to have railings at all*
*your buil ding codes may vary
![]() 09/18/2018 at 13:05 |
|
That might be why they installed the deck too low below the threshold.

Reaffirms the “MOBILE” in mobile home.
