My wife and I went to the BC Vintage Truck Museum on April 7th. A lot of trucks with historical significance to Vancouver and the surrounding area. Some Canada only brands as well for you Americans. I also entered my truck into the BC Antique Truck show in July. My goal this spring/summer is to do one automotive event a weekend. So far, so good. I will periodically post my monthly schedule should any PNW Oppo’s want to join me.

The below is a 1946 Chevy “Maple Leaf” which is a Canadian only brand. Basically GM’s answer to Dodge’s Fargo.

This is a firetruck from a community outside of Vancouver named Hope.

1941 International K7, used in WWII and based out of the Beatty Street Drill Hall in Vancouver. The British Columbia Regiment (Duke of Connaught’s Own) is an armoured recon unit.

This is a 1943 Chevy, another Maple Leaf.

This was probably one of my favorite trucks. A 1914 FWD (???) Model B. 29 Horsepower from a massive 4 cylinder engine with a governor on it restricting it to 1200rpm. Tons of torque I am told.

BC Telephone Company is now called Telus. If you live in Canada, especially western Canada, Telus is a massive Telecom company. This awsome Dodge Tradesman 200 is one of their vans. Tradesman is very similar in thought to the current brand Promaster.

This 1910 International Auto Wagon is not actually owned by the museum, but is stored here during the winter/early spring. The owners actually drive this around from show to show in the summer.

Your depth of field is very shallow. Too bad it’s not the nearer eye that’s in focus. Great shot.

I actually use just my phone (Pixel). I just try to get as good a shot as I can.

I’d like to get a better camera, but the money isn’t quite there right now.

Pixel is said to have a better-than-iPhone camera. But a few of your detail shots are some of my favorite car pictures I’ve seen in many moons. Well done, Sir.

Man I need to go there. I wish they were open more often, I’m not sure when I’ll have a free saturday.

These guys need a Pacific and/or a Hayes in there. Maybe an early Kelowna built White Western Star.

It is definitely worth a visit, but yeah, their hours are limited. Also, they are loosing some space soon. They’re having a truck show on July 7th that would be worth going to

One of my goals in life is to own a Canadian only (CDM?) pickup. At the top of my list is a 60's Mercury, or a 48-50 Merc. Mercury is admittedly more common and less cool than a Fargo, or a freakin Maple Leaf, but that’s what I want.

Not as often as I would like to, but we did two family road trips through BC two years in a row and no my Dad is retired to Oregon, so BC isn’t too far away for a visit trip.
